5f wins at Ripon and Chester last term and is 2lb higher than latter success. Showed speed until weakening on reappearance and wouldn't be out of it if that's blown away all the cobwebs.
Fair sprint handicapper who scored over C&D last August off 3lb lower mark. Shaped with promise on seasonal reappearance at Newcastle and won't be far away if things drop his way.
Was raised 8lb for Musselburgh win last August and struggled after that. Now just 3lb higher than last win but tends to need a run or two and returns here after winter break.
Hasn't won on turf since October 2016 when landed decent York sprint handicap off 93 for David Barron. Had wind surgery earlier in the year and joined new yard prior to finishing last of 12 so probably best watched at present.
Won three events last year and scored again at Newcastle AW in February. Good fifth in hot Musselburgh handicap last time and off 1lb lower mark is worthy of plenty of consideration.
Has won four 5f handicap at Newcastle since December and clearly loves the place. Last turf run came off 24lb lower mark so will have to replicate progress on AW if he is to be competitive at this level off this rating.
Won 6f maiden and 5f handicap last season and was good runner-up over C&D off 81 in September. Not seen since October but worth a glance in betting for any sign of support with fine jockey back in the plate.
Progressed well last term with wins at Haydock and Nottingham, and shaped nicely enough after a break when failing by just a neck to make a winning return at Southwell recently. Fair chance if able to produce similar effort.
Returned at Ripon last month on first start since wind surgery and shaped with promise in finishing a respectable fourth. On a very long losing run however stretching back to June 2016 and clearly finds winning quite a challenge these days.
Last two sprint handicap wins have come off mark of 73, and didn't really enough last time to suggest he's up to scoring here off 75. Stable going through relatively quiet spell.
Has fallen to realistic turf mark and ran well when close second on AW at Newcastle last time. Fair young rider claims useful 5lb.
Seeeking a 10th career victory but hasn't run particularly well at this venue on last two visits and has shown little spark in two starts so far this campaign elsewhere. Others make more appeal.
Won Yarmouth juvenile novice stakes for Chris Dwyer on second outing last season, and run respectable on both starts so far for current yard, including on handicap bow last time. Eased 2lb and cheekpieces applied to is not without a chance.
Forecasts
Jabbarockie (3/1), Primo's Comet (9/2), Bowson Fred (11/2), Makanah (7/1), Excessable (12/1), Landing Night (12/1), Phoenix Star (12/1), Another Angel (14/1), Henley (20/1), Billy Dylan (20/1), Desert Ace (25/1), Bashiba (28/1), Robot Boy (28/1)
A trappy finale with a host of horses quite capable of landing the spoils. The suggestion is HENLEY, a previous C&D scorer who ran well enough first time out and should be ready to roll now. Jabbarockie hails form a yard that does very well with its sprinters and is a likeable sort, while Primo's Comet, Landing Night, and Another Angel have been in good form through the winter and won't lack for fitness. Phoenix Star is relatively unexposed and is a potential improver.
- Henley
- Jabbarockie
- Phoenix Star
