Gelded son of Camelot who fetched €80,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to a Listed-placed performer in Italy. Best of novice efforts came at Chelmsford (1m, AW) when last spotted in November. Handicap debut, can do better.
Just touched off in a 1m Kempton handicap before shedding her maiden tag in novice company over 7f at the same venue on final 2018 start. May have need the run at Lingfield on reappearance, can do better if seeing out this new trip.
Mastercraftsman colt who fetched €230,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to six winners; placed over a mile at Salisbury last year, there should be plenty more to come this term. Watch betting on return.
Improved once again when just getting touched off on turf/handicap debut at Salisbury six days ago. Mark unchanged and 3lb claimed here, should be right there again.
Third on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (1m1½f, AW) last month, runs from the same mark back on turf and likely has better to come with experience. Can go well.
Went close on debut at Brighton (7f, good to firm) in September but well held both starts since. Has left Mick Channon since, needs to improve.
Nothing out of the ordinary as a juvenile in three starts. Has been gelded over the winter and goes up in distance to 1m2f for handicap debut.
Wasn't unfancied on handicap bow at Wolverhampton (1m4f, AW) last month but failed to muster a challenge. Drops in trip and not one to cross off hastily.
Swiss Spirit gelding, remains a maiden after seven runs and starting to look a bit exposed. Others have better claims in this line-up.
Forecasts
Takumi (9/4), Peckinpah (5/2), Htilominlo (7/2), Young Merlin (9/1), Queen's Soldier (11/1), Twenty Years On (14/1), Cromwell (16/1), Toybox (20/1), Limelighter (33/1)
An open finale, with Htilominlo the starting point having just been touched off on handicap bow at Salisbury. The son of Zoffany will have clear claims if building on that on today's terms. Queen's Soldier gained market support on handicap bow at Wolverhampton but couldn't justify it, so it will be interesting to see if more arrives now coming back in trip. The one that appeals is TOYBOX. She had pleasing form last year and may well have needed her Lingfield run. The daughter of Paco Boy is bred for this sort of trip and can step up to make a bid. Young Merlin and Peckinpah could have place claims.
- Toybox
- Htilominlo
- Peckinpah
