Point-to-point winner who was fifth of 14 on his first start in a bumper at Navan in March. Represents leading stable and improvement is on the cards.
Stepped up on Navan debut when second of 16 at Ballinrobe last month. More needed, but he is going the right way.

Winged Love gelding from the family of a 2m4f-winning hurdler. Makes his debut for top stable which also saddles Axiomatic so the betting should be a guide to their respective chances.
Beaten a long way in maiden hurdles at Navan and Fairyhouse. Best watched as he switches to a bumper.
Bits of promise in four starts in bumpers. Tongue tied for the first time and it needs to have a beneficial effect.
Well held on bumper debut, but has shown ability in two subsequent starts over hurdles. May be better equipped for return to this discipline.
Odds-on when winning a point-to-point in February. Cost £100,000 earlier this year and is a likely contender on debut in a bumper.
Better of two efforts in bumpers when fifth of 14 at Wexford last month. Much more needed, but should continue to improve.

Yeats gelding who was made an odds-on favourite when obliging in a point-to-point in January. Top amateur rider booked so everything is in place for a bold show.
Only point-to-point run saw him score by no less than 30L. Fascinating contender on bumper debut for his Scottish stable.
Good fourth to the high-class City Island on hurdling debut at Leopardstown and confirmed he had ability when third in a Navan bumper last time with Axiomatic behind. Each-way claims.
Placed twice in five starts in bumpers, including last time at Ballinrobe. Looks to have plenty to do against some potentially smart rivals.
Point-to-point winner last year after which he was bought for £235,000. Represents powerful connections on debut in a bumper and has to be checked out in the betting.
Westerner gelding who is a brother to a 2m5f winner over hurdles. Third of eight, beaten over 15L, on debut in a bumper at Fairyhouse and is likely to improve.

Good third of 25 on hurdling bow at Naas in February so slightly surprising to see him run in a bumper at Clonmel in March when he was third of 13. Clearly has ability and should go well.
Not disgraced on debut at Down Royal, but was beaten out of sight at Fairyhouse last time. Others make much more appeal.

Beat Hollow mare from the family of Don Poli. Interesting pedigree, but is likely to need this debut experience.

Verdict

With so many unknown quantities on show, the betting market is likely to be informative. The list of likely sorts is headed by Gold Des Bois, Longhouse Poet, Lucky Flight and MONKFISH, with marginal preference for the latter who cost £235,000 after winning a point-to-point and represents connections who are always to be feared in these contests. Others who warrant consideration include Axiomatic, Bentham, Coeur Serein, Lucky Ranger and Royal Thief.
  1. Monkfish
  2. Gold Des Bois
  3. Longhouse Poet
