Society Rock colt who cost €44,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to a winner over 1m1f. Represents leading, in-form stable on debut and has to be checked out in the betting.

Not much to shout about in four runs, latterly in a handicap at Kempton. It will be surprising if one of two of these rivals are not too speedy.

Mokammal195
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-5| J: Jim Crowley| T: Sir Michael Stoute
2/5
Mukhadram colt who fetched 120,000 gns as a foal and whose dam won over 5f. Easy to back when promising second of eight on debut in a Leicester maiden in October and should be able to build on that on first start as a three-year-old.

Home-bred Archipenko colt who is related to a couple of winners for this yard. Never-nearer third of eight on debut at Ffos Las in September and has been gelded since. Stable in good form.

Poetic Era187

12/1
By Poet's Voice, she cost 42,000gns as a yearling and is out of a 1m½f AW winner from a decent middle-distance family. Nearest at finish when fourth of 10 over 7f on debut at Newmarket in October and should be winning races before too long.

Risaala143
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Liam Jones| T: C Hills| BF
25/1
Mukhadram filly out of an unraced half-sister to Group One winner Bahri and 7f two-year-old Group Two winner Bahharre. Fifth of 13 on racecourse bow at Kempton in December and should improve. Looks second string to leading owner's Mokammal, however.

Sweet Celebration47
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: M Botti
16/1
Excelebration filly who cost 10,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to a 1m AW winner. Satisfactory fifth of 12 over 7f on debut at Kempton and can do better this time.

Forecasts

Mokammal (2/5), Sea Sculpture (6/1), Poetic Era (12/1), Eddie Cochran (14/1), Sweet Celebration (16/1), Risaala (25/1), Frenchmans Creek (100/1)

Verdict

Several promising sorts make this an interesting contest. Mokammal and Risaala give their leading owner a strong hand, Sea Sculpture is promising and Eddie Cochran is an interesting newcomer. However, POETIC ERA was a good fourth on debut at Newmarket and that looks just about the strongest form on offer.
  1. Poetic Era
  2. Mokammal
  3. Risaala
