Not easy to win with nowadays with his last three successes coming in 2013, 2015 and 2017. Needs to improve on recent form and despite drop in class is overlooked.
No win in 14 attempts, dating back to 2017. Dropping down the ratings however and needs a look on reappearance after wind operation, given he's capable fresh.
Scored on fourth start for this trainer at Catterick (6f, good) in October. Likely didn't relish soft going one further start and cannot be ruled out too quickly on seasonal bow.
Losing sequence is now out to 21, gets a first-time visor added now but stamina concerns over this 7f trip will have to be laid to rest.
Pair of Catterick victories in 2017 over 6f/7f are blemishes on an otherwise unimpressive CV. Tends to have his best for that track, first run here and has plenty to prove.
Suffered with a stiff looking mark after he won at Beverley on his racecourse debut as a juvenile and it's taken a while to get competitive again in handicaps as a result. Back from a layoff starting out for new trainer, market should reveal more.
Previous C&D winner, best suited by this trip. Returns from a layoff sporting a first-time visor and entitled to go well if fit enough. Watch betting.
Some consistent efforts last year failed to yield a win, probably would be better suited racing over shorter and watching brief seems safest on seasonal bow.
Has tumbled in the weights since August 2018; won fresh on a couple of occasions in the past, so there'd probably be far worse speculative selections in wide open race.
Happiest when able to get his toe into the ground on turf, a 7f soft-ground winner at Ayr in October 2018; trainer took this race last year, runs two today and looks best of them.
Promise shown last year in minor contests, should be suited over this trip on seasonal/handicap bow and any movement in the market is worth noting.
No victory achieved during 2018 and has been cut some slack by the assessor as a consequence. Fair effort on seasonal bow at Pontefract (1m, good to firm) but all previous wins over 1m+.
Remains a pound higher than when gaining sole turf win at Beverley over half-furlong further in May last year and needs to put two tame efforts on the AW recently behind him.
Scored on three occasions for Karen Tutty in 2018, fair effort on debut for new trainer over a mile at Pontefract recently and could well build on that now.
Maiden, not much in the formbook at this point, but remains early days and could have better ahead this year. Easily watched on reappearance, however.
0-20 since winning on debut at Chepstow (7f, soft) in June 2016; no-show at Nottingham on reappearance and no reason to suggest dramatic turnaround in fortunes now. Trainer won this last year.
Forecasts
Ebbisham (9/2), Atletico (11/2), Mywayistheonlyway (8/1), Thornaby Nash (10/1), Christmas Night (12/1), Sfumato (12/1), Im Dapper Too (12/1), Donnelly's Rainbow (14/1), Chickenfortea (16/1), Naples Bay (16/1), Proceeding (16/1), Billy Wedge (20/1), Roaring Forties (20/1), Kodicat (25/1), Ninjago (25/1), Forever A Lady (25/1)
Trainer Rebecca Bateman won this race a year ago and could have another live contender in Roaring Forties, though he might prefer to see some rain falling. Thornaby Nash showed up well on debut for new connections at Pontefract and is capable of more while handicap debutant Proceeding is worth a betting check. The reappearing trio of Mywayistheonlyway, Sfumato and EBBISHAM all make some sort of appeal, with the verdict handed to Joe Fanning's mount given he is proven to go well off a break.
