Highly tried after AW win at two and paid-price for close fifth in Group Three here being raised 10lb the handicapper which surely leaves her vulnerable here.
Followed 11L Catterick novice win last season with 5L Listed third at Newbury to end the campaign. Handicap debut here and bred to excel at three so makes plenty of appeal for top yard.
Soft ground maiden winner on debut in June (6f) remained consistent last season without winning again. ¼L to find with Ice Gala on last run when they were third and fourth and must be considered with trainer red-hot.
Won well at Doncaster on debut but flopped next. Better next when second at Doncaster on return last month but not obviously well treated for handicap debut.
6f two-year-old winner on good-to-firm going and not beaten far in valuable Redcar two-year-old trophy in last start of season. Handicap here appeals as well within range based on that form so has very solid claims.
Showed a decent level of ability without winning at two and ran well over C&D finishing second in the middle of those three. More needed to defy this opening mark but expect best days lie ahead.
Ended two-year-old campaign with an AW win in December but poor effort when eighth of nine on AW on return gives her a bit to prove now.
Made odds-on for return in a 1m AW novice at Kempton and duly prevailed in comfortable fashion. Did little more than show wellbeing there so this will provide a much sterner test.
Dual 6f nursery winner finished powerfully when winningover 6f at Leicester. 4lb rise not unreasonable so subsequent flop hard to explain. More exposed than most.
C&D two-year-old winner well held next when 6lb higher and may well find several less-exposed rivals here better handicapped.
Won twice here at two but flopped in final start at two and first this season too. Course form a positive but other than that there are a few worries.
Forecasts
Ice Gala (9/4), Impulsion (4/1), Strict Tempo (6/1), Star Of War (7/1), Heritage (8/1), Zofelle (10/1), Deira Surprise (12/1), Sufficient (20/1), No Way Jose (28/1), Cotubanama (33/1), Porcelain Girl (33/1)
These three-year-old handicaps are always a bit of a minefield but STRICT TEMPO appeals the most based on an excellent effort latterly in a hot Redcar Listed race. Closely matched pair Ice Gala and Impulsion also look classy recruits to the handicapping game for top yards.
- Strict Tempo
- Ice Gala
- Impulsion
