Unfancied on his debut (14-1) when winning at Beverley for a yard with a modest strike-rate with their first-time out juveniles. Knew his job (made most) and did well to hold off one with more experience; open to improvement under a penalty.

Will lack nothing in experience having already had three runs scoring on the latest of those over 5f at Beverley. The only juvenile winner for the yard so far he's sure to stay a little further and sets the form standard in this.
From a yard that know how to get one ready first-time out (4-17 with debutante juveniles here) this will be just their second two-year-old runner this season. £20,000 yearling, first foal out of a dam who won at up to 1m; worth a market check.
From a strong stable for juveniles they are already up and running with this age group (near 13% strike-rate with debutantes). Price dropped €3,000 from foal to yearling; second foal, dam a winner over 5f, won't be out of place.

Fledging trainer who runs his first ever juvenile here; cost £16,000 (Ascot Breeze-Up). Brother to 6f two-year-old winner Mutawaffer; dam 5f AW winner. Others persuade more unless the market says otherwise.

Half-brother to several winners including a couple of useful types but shaped as if amiss when a 20-1 chance on debut. Finished well held on that occasion and looks the second string for the trainer who has a much stronger chance with Rodnee Tee.

Bred very much for speed and showed some on debut over 5f at Thirsk although ultimately well beaten (needed the experience). Not a threat on that occasion he should show a little more here but others make more appeal.

Yard really to get going overall this year and have a pretty moderate strike-rate with debutante two-year-olds. Cost 22,000 guineas as a yearling; half-sister to 2-year -old 6f winner Silvery Blue; dam, winner up to 6f (including at two).

Fairly rare juvenile runner from a yard which have yet to have one win on debut. First foal out of a dam who was an unreliable 5f winner (including as a juvenile); likely to need be one of the outsiders in this.

25/1
Second debutante runner in the race for the trainer (record with debutantes is moderate) and like his other runner best watched unless the market speaks. Sprint bred so may be worth looking out for in this company in the future.

Forecasts

Birkenhead (4/6), Rodnee Tee (4/1), Baileys Prayer (6/1), Manolith (16/1), It's Been Noted (20/1), Ice Skate (25/1), Sparkling Breeze (28/1), Holloa (33/1), Harswell (33/1), Two Hearts (50/1)

Verdict

There don’t look to be any outstanding debutantes in this race although both It’s Been Noted and Baileys Prayer come from stables which can ready a two-year-old first –time out and a market move for either should be noted. Of the four with experience BIRKENHEAD and Rodnee Tee stand head and shoulders above the other pair with the former coming from the stable that won this with an experienced runner last year (Mick Channon) and who won in a quicker time on the same card at Beverley just 10 days ago.
  1. Birkenhead
  2. Rodnee Tee
  3. Baileys Prayer
