Likes quick ground, so will want the rain to stay away, wasn't in any great form when last seen out in January and this trip still an unknown. Looks badly handicapped too and has plenty to prove here.

Well handicapped these days but that's down to the fact he seems to have completely lost his form and he was never in the hunt at Newbury last time. This is easier but trip an unknown and not hard to look elsewhere for the winner,

Has ability but plenty of temperament to go with it, the addition of cheekpieces doing nothing for him when last seen out at Wincanton and the bottom line is he's just got too many question marks against him.

Won a weak maiden hurdle at Market Rasen last year but it's not been good since then, twice falling in chases and then only a moderate effort back over hurdles last time out. Needs to start improving again.

Looked useful when winning at Fontwell in December but two backwards steps since then and now returns from a break having had a wind operation. Could easily get back on track and any rain a plus.

Got to go back to 2017 to find last win (for former trainer), has shown little in two starts for current yard and hopes pinned on a wind operation and new headgear. Very risky at present, although conditions fine.

Only knows the one way and that's going hard from the front, occasionally lasts out and might now be approaching peak fitness having had three runs after a long absence. On a fair mark and chance if rain stays away.

Was found a little race to win at Southwell last time out and deserved that for the consistency he had previously shown. However, 9lb rise for that looks plenty, and goes up in trip here, so needs to pull out more.

Better effort at Market Rasen when second last time, a change of tactics (went from the front) seemingly doing the trick. Won't get the lead with Hallings Comet in attendance but has a squeak if building on that. Won't mind rain either.

No win in 14 starts is a worry but he does have some ability, as he showed when a close third at Uttoxeter last time. Cheekpieces given another try, and if they work, he's not without hope of breaking his duck.

Placed in a couple of maiden hurdles in Ireland but a poor effort on first start for new yard at Chepstow (pulled too hard for own good, finished last) and on the back of that, is best watched here.

Forecasts

Midnightreferendum (4/1), Forgot To Ask (4/1), Cardigan Bay (9/2), Nigh Or Never (6/1), Chief Brody (10/1), Wallace Spirit (10/1), Movie Set (10/1), Robinshill (12/1), Volpone Jelois (14/1), Hallings Comet (16/1), Kilchreest Moon (25/1), Jefferson Davis (33/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these have question marks against them and it's not an easy contest to solve. If the rain stays away then Hallings Comet can be given a squeak at a big price, as he tends to do his winning in the spring/summer and might be approaching peak fitness. A chance is taken that the wind operation does the trick with MIDNIGHTREFERENDUM as she looked a useful prospect when scoring at Fontwell and hopefully the two disappointments since can be put down to physical issues. Nigh Or Never, Cardigan Bay and, if the rain comes, Chief Brody are all worth a second look.
