Below best both runs last year and not seen since June. Sold for 11.000 gns in autumn and too much to prove at present.

Produced a much improved effort on stable debut following a gelding operation to split a useful pair of sprinters at Wolverhampton(5f). He should have been raised considerably for that and the way he finished suggested he will stay this far.

Now 3-5 for this yard and he was poorly drawn here for one of those defeats. Clearly suited to this C&D, but a 7lb rise for his latest victory coupled with a rise in class puts him at risk.

Won this two years ago and below-par since scoring at Windsor off 2lb higher in August. Dropped in grade and 3-9 in this class and 4-7 around here.

Due to go up another 4lb next week having finished a close fifth in the sprint on AW Championship day. That seems harsh as he has struggled to get his head in front off similar mark to today's, but another frame finish is a possibility.

6lb higher here than when winning a 19-runner York contest last autumn. Form after that suggested handicapper now has his measure. Makes AW debut in first-time cheekpieces.

2-2 over C&D although those victories came in much lower grades. Requires a career best to win this and current stable form suggests the run may be needed.

Two wins and two places in five starts here with his latest success earning a 4lb rise. That was his first win in 12 attempts in this grade, but he was good value for his winning margin and a run on turf since proves this is his surface.

Forecasts

Walk On Walter (2/1), Areen Heart (9/4), Storm Over (8/1), Udontdodou (9/1), King Robert (10/1), Captain Jameson (12/1), Vegas Boy (14/1), Lahore (14/1)

Verdict

STORM OVER split fitter rivals rated 103 and 104 on his stable debut last week and he's done remarkably well not to have been reassessed by the handicapper. In contrast Areen Heart is due to go up the weights from next week following a mid-division finish in the AW Sprint Championship Final. Connections will be hoping he can take advantage of his current mark which in truth has ben marginally beyond him previously. He has place claims, as do track specialists Walk On Walter, King Robert and Udontdodou.
  1. Storm Over
  2. Areen Heart
  3. King Robert
