8/1
Nathaniel filly who fetched €87,000 as a two-year-old and is a half-sister to a winner over 1m1f. Quite stoutly bred and is likely to need this debut experience.

66/1
By Irish sire Linngari out of a Pivotal mare, she cost €45,000 as a two-year-old and is a half-sister to three winners from 1m to 1m4f. Probably best watched as she makes her first appearance on a racecourse.

50/1
Dalakhani filly whose dam was unplaced in maidens at around 1m but is a half-sister to a couple of middle-distance winners. Wears a hood on debut.

Lucy Lou
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Jim Crowley| T: C Hills
14/1
Daughter of Galileo from the family of the high-class Pilsudksi. Taking middle-distance pedigree and trainer of this debutant has been among the winners.

Mrs Ivy210
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Harry Bentley| T: R M Beckett
33/1
Champs Elysees half-sister to useful 1m/1m1f winner Just Little and 6f/7f winner Bertie's Best out of a French 1m1f/1¼m winner. Last of 13 on debut at Salisbury in September, but surprising if she is not capable of much better.

7/2
Daughter of Sea The Stars who is a sister to a US Listed winner. Promising debut when fourth of 11 at this track in October and should be able to build on that over a longer trip which will suit.

Samstar14
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: F Norton| T: C & M Johnston
16/1
Nathaniel filly who fetched 18,000 gns as a yearling and whose dam won from 5f to 7f. Took a while for the penny to drop on debut at Lingfield last month, but finished well and should be more streetwise this time.

Sashenka16
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: David Egan| T: S Kirk
12/1
Went through the sales ring three times with her price plummeting to 5,000 gns when bought out of David Simcock's yard in February. Promising debut when never-nearer second of 10 at Lingfield, however, and that form entitles her to respect.

Soloist
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: James Doyle| T: W J Haggas
10/1
Camelot filly who fetched 100,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-sister to a winner in Germany. Represents a powerful combination on debut and is one to note in the betting.

Horse silk
Star Catcher113
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: L Dettori| T: J & T Gosden| BF
10/11
Sea The Stars filly who cost 240,000 gns as a foal and is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Cannock Chase and Group 2 winner Pisco Sour. Odds-on when slowly away and sixth of 12 on debut at Chelmsford, but can do better for last year's winning stable.

(9)
Horse silk
200/1
Universal filly out of an unraced half-sister to a 1m4f-2m Flat and 2m hurdle winner Song Light. Always behind on debut at Kempton in November and looks a long-term prospect.

Forecasts

Star Catcher (10/11), Royal Star (7/2), Born Leader (8/1), Soloist (10/1), Sashenka (12/1), Lucy Lou (14/1), Samstar (16/1), Mrs Ivy (33/1), Happy Hiker (50/1), Brass (66/1), Universal Song (200/1)

Verdict

Lucy Lou and Soloist may fare best of the newcomers, while Royal Star and Samstar have already shown enough to suggest they have races in them, but the vote goes to Oaks entry STAR CATCHER, who was an odds-on favourite on debut at Chelmsford, but ruined her chance by starting slowly. She represents a powerful team and is likely to be much wiser on this second outing.
  1. Star Catcher
  2. Royal Star
  3. Samstar
