Successful both starts but only seen once each season winning over 1m as a juvenile before taking a 1m2f minor event last season (making all at odds-on). Clearly fragile but goes well fresh, remains open to progress; handicap debut up in trip.
Useful handicapper when with William Haggas at up 1m4f who failed to fire on his hurdling/stable debut. Weak in the betting returned to the Flat (Lingfield AW 1m4f handicap); might have needed the run, tame finishing effort though, plenty to prove.
Dual handicap winner last year at up to 1m6f who displayed the odd quirk when winning (generally in headgear); had the run of the race when scoring at Newmarket. Overdid the forcing tactics when last seen over 2m; quirks need to be kept in check.
Scored twice last year showing improved form to record his second victory over this trip on the Tapeta (Newcastle); pulled clear with another progressive sort. Well below form on his hat-trick bid at York (trip; 1m6f, too far); stable second choice.
Last three wins have come on AW (all at Newcastle); already up and running this year winning against a pace bias over 1m4f off a 4lb lower mark. Consistent sort who also acts on turf (best on good ground); fitness assured, leading contender.
Not won since 2017 but hasn't had much luck of late shaping well in all four AW handicaps this year; poorly placed off slow gallops on a couple of occasions. Capable of winning something like this if getting the breaks especially off this mark.
Just one win to his name over 1m in a minor event on the AW early last year but showed some useful form in handicaps especially when last seen in October. Not disgraced over C&D (third to a couple well ahead of their marks); stable yet to get going.
Not seen on the Flat since late 2017 when with Ed Dunlop (gained four win in testing conditions) before going hurdling for this yard (dual winner). Strong traveller (not entirely straightforward); well handicapped if ready to go off an absence.
Reeled off an AW hat-trick early in 2018 at this trip and 2f further; failed to win after that often failing to have the race run to suit but with a list of excuses that are mounting up. Absence to overcome and inkling he may be better on AW.
Lightly-raced four-year-old; finished runner-up in all his three starts last year deserving some credit for his consistency (appears nothing wrong with his attitude). Hasn't looked wildly progressive; a move into handicaps may bring some improvement.
Useful handicapper who won two staying handicaps last year in contrasting conditions at up to 2m. Tried in headgear before (nothing worn here); ran too free when last seen at Chester (poor draw); has a little work to do from this mark.

Quite a few to consider here in what looks to be an open contest although a few of these may just need their first run of the season. One who won’t lack for fitness is DESERT RULER who has already scored on the AW this season but is equally at home on turf and he could put his well being to good use here. Showroom and Petrastar are the unknown quantities in this field both making their handicap debuts with the former looking to have the potential to be a lot better than the mark of 90 he’s been awarded. Natural History is another with potential whilst the well-handicapped Michael’s Mount needs watching in the market on his return to the Flat along with Eddystone Rock.
