Won two races over 2m last summer and probably hit the front too soon on the latter occasion. Has not had a productive winter but still worth noting for a market move in this company.
18-race maiden on the Flat who won his first start over hurdles but obviously has not enjoyed the winter game since. Has rejoined the Hannon yard on a career low mark, but another placed effort may be the best he can hope for.
Triple C&D winner goes well for this rider. Unlucky to bump into a handicap good thing here last time and the third won here on Saturday. The one to beat on that evidence.
Behind Smiley Bagel here last time when the race was not run to suit. The third has won since and a truer gallop should see him finish closer.
Expensive purchase has shown occasional flashes of ability both over hurdles and on the Flat. Yard have a 20% strike rate with their older Flat AW runners and interesting to check for market confidence given a workable mark and his rider's claim.
Won a class 6 handicap at Chepstow last May but has endured mixed fortunes since then; AW form not so inspiring and yet to win on an artificial surface. Others make more appeal this time.
Took advantage of a drop into a class 6 to gain an overdue success at Wolverhampton a month ago. Needs to better that here off a higher mark in stronger company.
Has a 2-36 career record with both victories coming in lower grade races. Has run well on last two starts, again in class 6 races, and he does tend to find it harder up at this level.
Improved performance at Wolverhampton in first-time blinkers when ridden more prominently. Winner has upheld the form since but can he replicate the effort in this higher grade?
Has won two races over a mile off 3lb higher, but she has shown she stays this far on recent outings. Had a lot go wrong here last time and she has a sound each-way chance.
Forecasts
Make Good (7/2), Smiley Bagel (7/2), Power Home (11/2), Famous Dynasty (7/1), Cheeky Rascal (8/1), Kings Inn (9/1), Makambe (10/1), Luna Magic (12/1), River Dart (16/1), The Way You Dance (20/1)
SMILEY BAGEL is fancied to collect based on a solid C&D record, a rider who gets on well with him and his latest run which saw him split two subsequent winners. Makambe was behind him that day but would be expected to finish closer granted a better gallop, whilst Luna Magic had trouble at the start and again in running when making her comeback run. Kings Inn could improve now running at this level off a workable mark made the more attractive for his rider's claim, but Power Home needs to improve on the form of her latest victory.
- Smiley Bagel
- Makambe
- Luna Magic
