Out-ran her odds of 66/1 when finishing a closing second to Pacificadora in a 7f fillies' novice stakes at Chelmsford in January; looked a speedy enough type on that occasion so could cope with this noticeable drop back in trip.

4/6
£75,000 juvenile; impressive 3½L winner on debut at Kempton (6f) in October (form respectable); lost little in defeat to the now 97-rated Deep Intrigue at Chelmsford (6f) seven-weeks later; off since; sets the standard.

Closely related to the 5f Listed winner Speed Cop, so there's every likelihood that he's capable of improving upon his neck 6f course novice median auction stakes win last month; probable player.

Cost €85,000 as a yearling; dwelt, always behind and outpaced on debut over 6f here nine-days ago; needs to be considerably sharper for the benefit of that experience in order to cope with dropping back in trip to 5f.

Ginger Max
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: P Hanagan| T: R A Fahey
11/2
68,000gns yearling; second foal; half-brother to the 6f juvenile winner Alwasmiya; watch for signs of market support; potentially capable of being involved in the finish on racecourse debut.

Gupta13
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: P Mulrennan| T: D H Brown
22/1
From a 5f AW winning dam (Lanai); has run okay on both starts so far at Southwell (5f) without necessarily shaping like a guaranteed future winner; further improvement is required.

Horse silk
18/1
Stayed on from off the pace to finish fifth to Vee Man Ten over C&D in early December; off since and probably the type to do better once introduced to handicapping.

Horse silk
100/1
From a moderate dam (Dulally); has shown little promise in either of her two previous starts (6f-7f); look elsewhere with immense confidence.

Horse silk
Termonator13
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: S H James| T: Grant Tuer
100/1
Well beaten on both previous starts at Southwell (5f); no reason whatsoever to anticipate a much needed upturn in fortunes; look elsewhere.

Rainbow Girl262
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon
4/1
Kodiac filly who fetched £58,000 as a juvenile; twice placed on turf during the summer of 2018, including over an extended 6f at Doncaster (good to firm); interesting to see how she figures in the market on her AW debut.

(4)
Horse silk
66/1
Fourth foal; sister to the 5f-6f winner Oriental Lilly; makes plenty of appeal for the future based upon her pedigree, but very surprising if she's able to take this contest on racecourse debut.

Forecasts

Top Breeze (4/6), Rainbow Girl (4/1), Ginger Max (11/2), Major Blue (12/1), Seanjohnsilver (18/1), Gupta (22/1), Miaella (33/1), Bannockburn (50/1), Sound Of Iona (66/1), Sharrabang (100/1), Termonator (100/1)

Verdict

The Richard Fahey-trained newcomer Ginger Max and the AW debutante Rainbow Girl should be monitored for any signs of market support, but based on known form the pair to concentrate upon are the 6f course winner Major Blue and the standard-setter TOP BREEZE. The selection was a beaten odds-on favourite at Chelmsford (6f) in December, but with the benefit of hindsight that was probably to be expected, with the winner the Mark Johnston-trained Deep Intrigue now having a lofty official rating of 97.
  1. Top Breeze
  2. Rainbow Girl
  3. Ginger Max
