Versatile performer that is back over hurdles after a solid blow out over fences last time. Won over this sort of trip at Taunton in January and has to be of interest with a 5lb claimer easing the burden at the weights. Shortlisted.
Won well over C&D last time out and likely the gelding has the ability to cope with the 7lb penalty. Ground conditions should suit and he can do his small bit to edge his handler towards another champion trainer's title.
Winner of a point-to-point a couple of years ago but starts in a bumper and two over hurdles have left an awful lot to be desired since. Hard to recommend at present.
Won a point-to-point but was well held on debut over hurdles. Did finish comprehensively in front of Clondaw's Answer on that occasion but plenty more required here.
Starting to get the hang of what's required and posted a couple of reasonable efforts lately. Steps up in trip here but shapes as if he'll cope. Worth a betting check.
ran well to be placed in a bumper at Towcester last January but two efforts since returning from a break have been poor. Significant improvement required.
Forecasts
Storm Arising (1/2), Chef D'Equipe (11/4), Hey Bud (8/1), Jen's Boy (33/1), Eclair Des Sablons (50/1), Clondaw's Answer (200/1), Dawn Sunrise (250/1)
STORM ARISING makes the most appeal in a moderate finale. The gelding picks up a penalty after his confident display in winning over C&D earlier this month; he's on the upgrade at present and is pretty much the one to beat in this company. Chef D'Equipe is a versatile performer that can push the selection all the way, while Hey Bud can also be thereabouts if he sees out the new trip.
