Step up to Grade 1 company in the US was possibly a step too far for the winner of a Curragh two-year-old contest in August. Not completely ruled out but plenty to prove right now.

Home-bred Vocalised filly out of a Dylan Thomas mare, made winning start in 1m Gowran Park maiden before a 2L defeat in a Leopardstown 7f handicap in October. Repeat of that form should see the filly in the hunt for place money.

Forecasts

San Andreas (4/1), Never No More (8/1), Crockford (8/1), Third World (8/1), Colfer Me (8/1), Zander (8/1), Wasntexpectingthat (10/1), Copia Verborum (12/1), Parkers Hill (12/1), Barend Boy (12/1), Leagan Gaeilge (12/1), Black Magic Woman (16/1), Chicas Amigas (16/1), Dandys Ocean (16/1), Swissterious (25/1), Engles Rock (33/1)

Verdict

The Ger Lyons-trained ZANDER looked above handicap level when landing a two-year-old maiden at the Galway festival in July, beaten on handicap debut when last seen in September the Oasis Dream colt can take a step in the right direction in this contest. Ballydoyle, who have not a great record in this race can hit the frame here with San Andreas, while Chicas Amigas is clearly better than her last start in the US. Jockey, Chris Hayes has won this race in each of the last three years for three different trainers and attempts the four-timer on Black Magic Woman.
  1. Zander
  2. San Andreas
  3. Black Magic Woman
