Yet to run a bad race in four career starts with a Tapeta win at Wolverhampton proceeded by a staying on second latest at Chelmsford over 1m2f. Upped 2lb and in trip but expect her to stay and again make a bold bid.

Yet to win but fourth at Wolverhampton latest after a 131 day break a step in the right direction. Could come on for that and with 1lb back has to be considered one with each way potential.

Step up in trip (1m2f) latest yielded an improved effort as she was third (1¼L behind Colony Queen) at Chelmsford. 2lb better off with that rival so reversal possible but not certain she wants this far.

Supported on handicap debut when dictating his own fractions and just failing to hold on at Wolverhampton. That form has taken plenty of knocks since but can't be totally ruled out.

Little evidence in three novice/maiden events late last year but been gelded and now upped in trip so could fare better. Others however more persuasive.

25/1 win when upped to this trip latest came completely out of the blue at Lingfield. That first time back after being gelded so obviously that has helped plenty. Upped 6lb for the win but far from fully exposed.

Only beaten four rivals in as many starts and poor last of 10 latest at Southwell. Tapeta debut with visor added but makes little appeal.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-2| J: L Morris| T: M Appleby| OR:  45

Slight improvement on handicap debut but was still only eighth of 12 at Southwell. Others then make good bit more appeal today.

Shown glimpses of ability but after a promising third in December she has run two ordinary races since and looked a non stayer latest upped top 1m2f so this trip of obvious concern.

Unplaced in five races to date. Midfield latest in a 1m2f Chelmsford handicap despite leading 1f out. Far from assured to stay this.

Seven-race maiden showed little ability so far and tailed off completely in last at Lingfield latest. Remains a watching brief only.

Midnite Rendezvous9
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-2| J: P Mathers| T: D Shaw| OR:  45

Beaten just seven rivals in five career races to date. Two ninths since switched to handicaps which shows magnitude of task here.

Forecasts

Colony Queen (7/4), Fanfaronade (5/1), Ginge N Tonic (5/1), Lord Lamington (11/2), Tabou Beach Boy (13/2), Rich Cummins (10/1), Silk Island (33/1), Russian Rum (33/1), Mendeleev (40/1), George Hastings (50/1), Freedom's Breath (66/1), Midnite Rendezvous (80/1)

Verdict

COLONY QUEEN is progressing nicely and her second over 1m2f latest offered plenty of hope that she could be better still over this sort of trip so she gets the nod. Just behind her that day and now better off at the weights is Fanfaronade. Ginge N Tonic was a shock winner latest but a repeat of that effort would see him thereabouts here.
  1. Colony Queen
  2. Fanfaronade
  3. Ginge N Tonic
