Dual 1m4f Flat winner on good/fast ground. Showed steady improvement at a minor level in three hurdles for the late Ken Slack. Had wind surgery since last run, so this mark may not be far out of reach if that helps improvement. Market can guide.
Showed a bit of ability on her hurdles debut at Musselburgh last season, but below that on both starts this season, after a year off. Makes handicap debut from a workable mark, but first has to prove she retains initial ability.
Failed to show much in three Irish starts and drifted in the market before being puled up at Ayr on handicap/stable debut recently. Can only watch this time.
24-race maiden who posted one of her better effort on debut for this trainer at Newcastle (2m4f, good to soft) earlier in the month. 1lb lower here and probably has frame claims.
Showed little in Ireland and barely got competitive in nine starts there for Pat Kelly. Changed hands since last seen in July and looks to have a tough task on her hands from this mark.
Hadn't shown much prior to a staying-on win in a similarly weak race when upped in trip at Fakenham (2m4f, good) last time, when 5lb lower. Softer ground to contend with here, but appeared to handle it two starts ago. Claims.
Has not shown much in a bumper and three hurdles to date. Step up in trip looks positive, but initial mark looks stiff on what we have seen. Probably one to watch unless market vibes strong.
Her 12L third here (2m5f, good) in a first-time tongue-tie in November reads reasonably well in the context of this race. Blinkers now added, and a 4lb drop will help. Could get involved, but has a bit to prove on soft ground.
Shaped with promise on her debut in a Stratford bumper (good) last July, but has yet to better that. Held from just 1lb higher when upped to this trip on soft at Uttoxeter this time, so more needed.
Placed just twice from 16 starts, one of those being here over fences, but very distant at that. Recent efforts suggest that she will find a few too good again.
Hasn't shown much so far, her best two efforts being at Wetherby over 2m. Plenty to prove after being pulled up over a similar trip on soft last time.
Forecasts
Talkingpicturestv (11/4), Molliana (7/2), Seapoint (4/1), Avondhu Pearl (15/2), Calliope (9/1), L'attendue (10/1), Whiteoak Stroller (12/1), Lakeside Pearl (18/1), Alice Lisle (33/1), Vereina (33/1), Castaliera (40/1)
A very moderate contest where MOLLIANA may well be up to the task of defying a 5lb rise for her Fakenham win and follow-up. There are several of these in good hands, for whom it would be no great surprise if they were able to raise an effort, but predicting that is certainly not easy. Alice Lisle, Vereina, Seapoint and Calliope might be the four to focus on in that respect.
- Molliana
- Calliope
- Vereina
