Consistent but is up in trip and needs improve for the initiative if she's going to rid herself of the maiden tag. The betting can guide but the mare does need to prove her stamina.

Won a point-to-point before a handful of modest efforts over hurdles up to press. The step up in distance ought to suit though; not fully exposed and one to monitor closely n the betting.

Won over hurdles at Exeter in December when wearing the first-time visor but didn't appear to relish the task over fences latest. 5lb higher than his last winning mark but will appreciated being back over timber. Shortlisted.

Paid the price for a couple of decent efforts a couple of seasons ago and has been in the handicapping wilderness since. Latest effort was respectable and been franked since, so a return to form may be imminent. Another to bear in mind.

Former point-to-pointer who posted a respectable effort on his return from the best part of three years on the sidelines when fourth at Wincanton last month. Needs to build on that now handicapping but interesting he's being persevered with.

Showed little in France and had wind surgery before he joined his current yard late last year. Form has been poor since then and he does need to up his game now he tries a handicap for the first time. Not harshly treated in doing so though.

Was modest on the Flat and took a good while for him to get off the mark over hurdles. Races from just a 3lb higher mark than for his Wincanton success last month but needs to prove that wasn't a one-off performance after a poor run latest.

Back for another try over C&D after trying and failing to make all from the same mark last time out. His style of running will always leave him vulnerable to a strong finisher but he's dangerously well handicapped and could easily slip the noose.

very lightly raced in recent times and not much to tempt an interest from the three performances he's posted over the last year. Dropping in the ratings but still has something to prove.

Very mixed form of late and the mare is hard to recommend with confidence even though her latest start was boosted at Uttoxeter at the weekend. Others look more solid options when the whole picture comes into focus.

Forecasts

Gonnabegood (9/4), Lamh Ar Lamh (4/1), Eddy (5/1), Mrs Miggins (11/2), Itsaboutime (11/1), Khairagash (11/1), Mr Magill (12/1), Mr Lando (14/1), We'llcwhathappens (22/1), Mutashabek (33/1)

Verdict

A chance is taken on EDDY building on what was a solid run last time out and he looks a likely type to respond kindly in for a race of this nature. Gonnabegood was in good form prior to his latest start - basically didn't take to fences last time - and merits plenty of respect now he reverts to hurdles; albeit on a 5lb higher mark than for his last win. Mrs Miggins can also be considered as shortlist material if the betting market suggest that the step up in trip won't be an issue for the top weight.

  2. Gonnabegood
