Appeared to be running into form latest when a mistake at the second last may have been costly at Fontwell (3m2f, good, good to soft). Only 2lb higher and should be in the mix if building on that effort.

3-8 in point-to-points all those wins coming early in 2017 and that led to him winning a hurdle on his rules debut (3m). Appeared three times over fences since a wind op and hasn't threatened. May need relief from assessor.

Winning hurdler, appeared to improve at Chepstow on third start over fences when tackling this sort of trip, finishing 1L third of 14. Has gone up 4lb but likely there's more to come and first-time blinkers may help.

Now 3-10 over fences having backed up November's Chepstow score with a C&D on good to firm 15 days later. Given a short break since and 5lb higher, prone to an off-day but capable of being in the pot here again.

Kilcrea Bridget58

Improved on third start over fences to score at Exeter (3m, heavy) in December. Up 8lb, though claimer negates most of that, could be capable of another step forward after short break.

Promise can be taken from all three starts over fences so far, including in December at Taunton when upped to this sort of distance. Likely must iron out technique before opening account, but capable of doing that soon.
7

Lizzie Langtont42
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-9| J: M G Nolan| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  93| C

Improved to win over C&D on second chase start in December, though cause was assisted when rival came down late on. Mare has since struggled at Fontwell and here in two further starts and she needs a step forward again to land this off current mark.

Fearsome Fred27
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-1| J: Tom Cheesman(5)| T: Dr J R J Naylor| OR:  85

16-race maiden, finished runner-up over 3m1f in a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (soft) in December but well held in three chase starts to this point and remains opposable despite sliding mark.

Findusatgorcombet27
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-0| J: Alexander Thorne(7)| T: J D Frost| OR:  84
10/1
Good-ground Fontwell winner back in June over similar distance, lost his way thereafter but signs much more positive at that track and Exeter lately (twice second). Strictly speaking has to improve to score here.

Forecasts

Clondaw Rigger (3/1), Sandhurst Lad (11/2), Bolving (11/2), Lizzie Langton (13/2), Cucklington (13/2), Kilcrea Bridge (8/1), Findusatgorcombe (10/1), Fearsome Fred (11/1), Ballyknock Cloud (11/1)

Verdict

KILCREA BRIDGE got off the mark at third time of asking over fences when taking an Exeter contest in December, the form of which has worked out quite well. The bulk of his ratings-rise is negated here by his claiming rider and he can take the step up in class now. Clondaw Rigger scored over C&D in November on the back of a Chepstow win and is respected, though he can throw in the odd flop. Bolving will be thereabouts when his jumping is improver while first-time blinkers should have Sandhurst Lad in the mix when it matters.
  1. Kilcrea Bridge
  2. Clondaw Rigger
  3. Bolving
