Posted a reasonable effort on her handicap debut at Dundalk last time out and very possible the filly has more to offer. Interesting to note the visor is dispensed with today. Solid jockey booking; well worth a betting check.

Mixed form of late and debatable as to whether the step up to 7f will ideally suit (has experience of the trip but has come up short so far). Dropping in the ratings but running out of chances.

Best effort to date posted on his handicap debut last time out. Drops back a furlong here, so has a bit to prove on that score, but feasible he can make the frame if gaining a handy position from the start. One to monitor in the betting.

Career didn't really take off during her time with Richard Hannon and the filly has failed to make an impact in three starts for her new yard. Others more convincing at this stage.

Showed modest form before getting off the mark over 6f at Southwell last month. Subsequent starts have been moderate and the gelding has a lot to prove after finishing last at Newcastle at the start of January.

Nothing to take from the filly's four previous starts and a big amount of improvement is required this time. Hard to recommend at this stage.

Improved effort when tried in a handicap last time out and possible there's more to come. Been off since October and gelded since last seen but still worth a betting check. in a weak race.

Didn't make much progress in three outings in novice company and need to step things up considerably now the filly is tried in a handicap. Best watched despite being on a workable mark.

Posted a fair effort at Southwell on her penultimate start but reverted to type in a sprint at the same course last time out. 0-9 so far and has a bit to prove back over 7f here.

0-9 so far and has looked regressive since tacking handicaps. Latest start left a bit to be desired and the filly has a lot to prove on her first attempt over seven furlongs.

Not made much progress in three starts to qualify for a mark of just 46 and hard to suggest she'll find the requisite improvement required to get off the mark at first time of asking in a handicap. (1lb wrong at the weights.)

Respectable effort against much higher rated opponents on her handicap debut at Dundalk and very possible the filly can make an impact here. Races from just out of the weights but not discounted with one of the leading AW riders in the plate.

Forecasts

Lady Greta (11/4), Heatherdown (3/1), Bellepower (6/1), Micronize (7/1), Macs Blessings (12/1), Geography Teacher (12/1), Cool Kitty (14/1), Farump (16/1), Isabella Red (16/1), Kemmeridge Bay (20/1), Anglesey Penny (20/1), Cala Sveva (33/1)

Verdict

HEATHERDOWN caught the eye last time out and created the impression a crack at this trip could be fruitful. He gets the nod in preference to the lightly weighted Irish raider Bellepower, who fared well against better opposition last time out and shouldn't be underestimated despite being set to race from out of the weights. Conversely, Lady Greta did well when tried here latest and also merits consideration.
  1. Heatherdown
