Made little appeal on pedigree but romped home 6L clear of an ordinary bunch on debut here. Ran well below that at Lingfield when pulling too hard and although return here may help, has questions to answer.
Showed little on debut but seemingly showed much improved form when winning at Wolverhampton. Suited by racing on a very slow pace there so while open to progress, form is a query.
Moohaajim gelding was second to a smart sort (who has franked the form) on his second start at Doncaster. Very well tried twice since in France and respected off these terms on AW debut.
Gelded son of Bated Breath and a cheap purchase at £2,000. Stable not noted for debutante winners and best watched.
Represents same connections as his sire, the champion sprinter Lethal Force but has shown nothing in two starts to date and ran very poorly on AW debut. Hard to make any sort of case for.
US-bred colt whose sales price rose to €120,000 last May and looked one to follow when going down a nose on debut but disappointed badly on second start. Not one to give up on just yet and market may be a good guide for in form stable.
Seven-race maiden has suffered from a rising mark without winning in handicaps and a beaten favourite the last twice. More possibilities off these terms but vulnerable to more improving types.
Full-brother to 1m-1m3f winner Rudyard and half-brother to 7.5f winner Boyissime and 7f/1m winner Scala Regia. Looked in need of debut when staying on late and only likely to improve for this stable, however much more required.
Cost 40,000 gns as a yearling and gelded ahead of debut. Stable can do well with three-year-old AW runners so worth at least a precautionary check in the market on debut.
Only had the four starts and back to the promise of his debut when running on and only just failing at Newcastle over this trip. Can go close if building on that on his first visit here.
Son of Pour Moi and a half-brother to four winners. Will need further in time but hard to fancy after well beaten debut effort at long odds.
Daughter of Garswood bought for 98,000 gns as a yearling and although bred for speed was making late promising headway on debut. Looks only likely to progress for leading trainer/jockey combination.
Sea The Moon filly out of a maiden who stayed 1m. Unfancied, always behind and failed to beat a horse home on debut. Easy to overlook.
Big Bad Bob half-sister to 1m½f-1m2f winner Zamperini and 1½m-2m winner Dovils Date. Bred to be better with time and distance and showed little on debut over this trip.
Forecasts
Crown Of Flowers (11/4), Kingdom Of Dubai (7/2), Fume (4/1), Rectory Road (6/1), Shanghai Grace (7/1), Engrossed (14/1), Fiction Writer (20/1), Alatia (20/1), Dark Poet (33/1), Nefyn Beach (50/1), Passive (50/1), Cockney Hill (100/1), Frea (150/1), With Pride (150/1)
ALATIA is clearly well regarded, has been well tried in France and sets a clear standard on form to date. Shanghai Grace is well drawn to kick on again while Crown Of Flowers only looked likely to progress from her debut with an eye-catching jockey booking to boot. Market supprt for Fiction Writer should be noted,
- Alatia
- Crown Of Flowers
- Shanghai Grace
