Shaped well when staying on into third in a C&D handicap two starts back, and built on that despite being unsuited by the race tempo at Wolverhampton last time. Will go well granted a solid gallop.

In fine form at present, and added to consistent record when second to Geordie Lad over C&D last week. That appeals as a solid piece of form, and he ought to take all the beating in this field.

Maiden who was below form after a slow start when tenth of 12 to Onefootinfront in handicap at Wolverhampton last time. Had looked a hard ride prior to that, and opposable on balance now.

Won over 2m at Newcastle in August for Andrew Balding, and joined current yard for 18,000 gns in November. Visored for first time having hinted at temperament, and market useful.

Only win so far came in a selling handicap at Brighton (last run for Brian Meehan). 0-11 for his current yard, and while he's run to form on his last couple of starts, he's had no excuses, and this looks tougher.

Placed over 2m here in October, and creditable efforts on next two starts, but she has been disappointing the last twice, and needs to bounce back to compete.

Best recent effort when second over 1m4f under this rider at Kempton in November, Not disgraced since, and form claims for all she remains a maiden.

Had shown little in maidens but was a different proposition taking the step up to 2m in a first-time visor when landing a gamble at Lingfield. Ran badly at Wolverhampton since, and tried in a change of headgear now. Risky.

Not easy to fancy on balance of his Flat form, but has won over hurdles since his last AW outing, and not without a chance if transferring that form to different sphere.

Missed 2017, and well beaten as a rule last year from basement marks. No appeal in first-time blinkers.

Showed very little including in a couple of handicaps, for Neil Mulholland. Starts off for a new yard now, but hard to recommend.

Verdict

YOUR BAND is building up a really solid profile at this level, and this looks easier than the race he was second in here last week. He faces his biggest challenge in the shape of Heron, who is shaping well, and is dangerous if getting a strong pace, while Lumen is all or nothing, but did land a gamble at Lingfield on his penultimate start, and could go well if a change of headgear does the trick.
