Strangely showed little on his hurdles/stable debut having shown plenty of ability in his sole bumper when with Harry Fry. Quickly put that frail start behind him when looking a different proposition at Ffos Las; race rather fell his way at the end.

Cost £43,000 as a five-year-old after winning his only completed Irish point-to-point start (won by 6L). So far has failed to show anything like the same ability/form in bumpers/hurdles; looks one for handicaps further down the line over further.
Only placed once in four starts in Irish point-to-points and his form so far over hurdles looks of the modest variety. Does look to be brought along gradually and needs further to show more; plenty of stamina in his pedigree.

Bumper winner who showed an aptitude for hurdling on his debut over C&D. Since run well in two 2m Newbury novice hurdles (well-backed favourite last time) and has form that ties in with Sevarano who runs in the 1.40 here; prominent display expected.

Winning chaser when trained in France he also showed some placed form over hurdles. He's so far shown only a fraction of that ability in two GB start (may have still needed the run last time); yard in-form but looks to have work to do still.

Started out as favourite on both his bumper runs at Uttoxeter shaping like a stayer on the 2nd occasion (stamina in the pedigree). Now makes his hurdles debut with the champion jockey for the first time.
Looked to have some ability judged on his bumper debut but quickly regressed from that promising start in two subsequent runs in that sphere. The fact that he went the wrong way in bumpers was highlighted by a poor hurdles debut over a staying trip.

Hard to fault the form of the yard at the moment and this one has a fair bit to recommend him on pedigree. He fell on his hurdles debut though and showed that he needed more time when well held over C&D last time.

Supported when finishing a good 2nd on his bumper debut and although that race has proved strong form he did come clear with the winner after travelling well. Pedigree suggests that he may need a little time\distance; interesting on hurdles debut.

Started favourite for both his point-to-point forays (pulled up on debut) but won 2nd time out in that sphere (finished alone). Both his hurdles runs have been similar and he looks better than his form figures but needs time.

A slight surprise to see the Becher Chase winner (a career best) turn up here over hurdles but presumably he needs to be kept ticking over whilst protecting his handicap mark. Likely to find a few too speedy over this sort of trip.

Forecasts

Dashel Drasher (5/6), Dickie Diver (5/2), Walk In The Mill (7/2), Tarada (11/2), Clondaw Anchor (7/1), North Star Oscar (8/1), Lamanver Pippin (12/1), Eceparti (20/1), Storm Wizard (33/1), Captains Run (50/1), Aclassagold (100/1), Two Sams (100/1), Springcombe Joe (100/1)

Verdict

Like the earlier maiden hurdle there a few in this who will be better in handicaps although we still have some fascinating runners to assess. The penalised pair Clondaw Anchor and Lamanver Pippin both look to have stiff tasks giving weight away and the focus falls firmly on the expensive point-to-point purchase DICKIE DIVER and the already rated 133 Dashel Drasher who would have the edge in experience. The vote goes the way of the former though from a yard that have a plethora of good horses of this type. Becher Chase winner Walk In The Mill adds further interest although he’s likely to find one or two too speedy here with Carlisle bumper runner-up Tarada worthy of respect.
  1. Dickie Diver
  2. Dashel Drasher
  3. Tarada
