Had gone off the boil slightly on turf prior to bouncing back with a good effort when a close third at Lingfield two weeks ago when well backed. and just behind Mythical Madness. Nudged up 1lb here but sure to be in the mix once more.

Clearly had some issues of late having only had one start so far this year. Mark on the high side for this return to action and probably best watched against some race-fit rivals.

Bounced back to form after some disappointing efforts when a close second at Lingfield (1m) two weeks ago finishing just ahead of Original Choice. Previous C&D winner likely to make a bold bid once more.

Fair performer on his day but remains 3lb higher than for his last win back in February. Well held by Original Choice and Mythical Madness at Lingfield last time and has a bit to find.

Triple winner in Italy over 7f-1m. Drops 2lb again here after being well held in both British starts. More needed.

Has been a revelation since returning from a break and moving into handicaps winning at Chelmsford with ease and then possibly even more impressive at Kempton. Up another 7lb but on a large upward curve and the hat-trick is on the cards.

Barley beaten a rival home on his last three starts and was well held by several of these at Lingfield last time. Others have much stronger claims today.

Winner twice here over further. Been struggling for form over 1m2f of late and not convinced this drop in trip is the answer. On a fair mark all the same and would be competitive on his best form.

Forecasts

Salute The Soldier (5/6), Original Choice (4/1), Maratha (5/1), Mythical Madness (9/1), Pettifogger (14/1), My Target (20/1), Chevallier (28/1), Steel Train (66/1)

Verdict

Several of these clashed at Lingfield last time and both Original Choice and Mythical Madness are strong contenders once more. It is very hard to get away from the claims of SALUTE THE SOLDIER who has been a revelation since going handicapping and remains on a steep upward curve. The hat-rick beckons here despite his 7lb penalty.
  1. Salute The Soldier
  2. Mythical Madness
  3. Original Choice
