Drops back to this grade for the first time since 2016. Handles Tapeta, although AW record of 0-7 gives him a bit to prove.
Loves it here, with six C&D wins to his name. 5lb higher than his latest winning mark, so more needed, but each-way appeal.
Well held when dropped back to this trip over C&D last time. when 4lb higher on his handicap debut. Has plenty on his plate sticking to this shorter distance.
Scored here over 7f when last seen in September, for which he has gone up 3lb. Tongue-tie left off this time, and he has so far proved inconsistent, so he has one or two questions to answer this time.
Multiple turf winner who is 0-3 on AW so far. Returns to this surface 6lb lower than when last tried in June. Repeat of that effort, or some of his better more recent turf form, would give him claims.
Sole win was on turf. 0-3 on AW, but has twice run to within 1L of the winner at this venue, so certainly handles the surface. Up 1lb for the latest of those (7f). Should be thereabouts.
Triple C&D winner who is on the same mark as the most recent of those successes in March. Largely consistent and should be thereabouts.
Wolverhampton maiden winner (6f, Tapeta) in February. Beaten just over 2L on his first try over 1m at Haydock in May. Gelded prior to latest start, when beaten less than 3L (7f) at Doncaster. Drops 1lb. Each-way appeal.
2lb lower than when scoring on turf (1m, good to soft) at Haydock for Lawrence Mullaney in July (under this jockey). Well held on debut for this trainer at Chelmsford recently, but clearly can't write him off.
Both wins have been at Southwell (6f/7f), the more recent when 5lb lower. Well below par on turf twice since her last AW run in February. Bit to prove, including that she acts on this surface.
Runs here for the first time, though has an AW win on Kempton's Polytrack to his name. Back on that same winning mark now. Inconsistent, but if at his best he could be a danger to all.
Up 2lb for a good run last time when narrowly held at Wolverhampton (7f, Tapeta). Can be an in-and-out performer. Acts here, although best form definitely over 7f, rather than 1m.
Went close here over 7f last time, for which she has gone up 1lb. Gets this trip, and is unexposed over it, so may well be more to come. Contender.
Has run up a hat-trick here (7f/1m) in his first three handicap runs. Now up 8lb for his latest comfortable success. More needed, but has to be respected.
Forecasts
Harry George (11/4), Tukhoom (9/2), Dubai Acclaim (7/1), Testa Rossa (8/1), Newmarket Warrior (10/1), Harvest Day (10/1), Mudawwan (12/1), Destroyer (16/1), Fingal's Cave (20/1), Forewarning (33/1), Golden Guest (33/1), Lagenda (66/1), Two For Two (80/1), Helen Sherbet (100/1)
Testa Rossa is a good starting point, given his super form at this track, and he can again go well, but preference is for HARVEST DAY, who is open to more improvement back up in trip and gets the vote. Golden Guest could be a threat if he fully fires, while Newmarket Warrior, Tukhoom and Tea For Two also make appeal.
- Harvest Day
- Newmarket Warrior
- Tukhoom
