Not been with this yard all that long and has been slipping down the weights. Has now dropped 2lb below his last winning mark over this C&D back in June. Tongue-tie goes on but needs to bounce right back.
Won at Ripon back in May but has been on the back-foot since. Well held on AW debut over this trip at Newcastle last month and now needs to take a big step forward. Mark is slipping.
Has hit a really purple patch of consistent form this autumn mostly back down at 5f. Back up in trip here and is creeping up the weights without winning but sure to give it another good go.
Won with a bit in hand at Bath for Olly Murphy (5½f, firm) back in May. Not quite as good next time under the penalty and has been off for six months since. Starts out for new yard today and shapes like 6f will suit.
There is no doubt that he is capable of being competitive off this sort of mark. Out of sorts of late though and hard to fancy here from a wide draw.
Harbour Watch gelding, cost £16,000 as a yearling. Three starts all over 7f have not shown a great deal. Interesting that he is dropped in trip for handicap debut off a lowly mark. Wide draw is a concern but market check needed.
Really likeable veteran who has been running herself into a bit of form of late. Previous C&D winner has a good draw and has been dropped another 2lb here so a bold bid is expected.
Previous C&D winner who has struggled in just four starts so far this year. Mark is slipping as a result and tends to save her best for this track now. Not discounted.
Yet to rediscover his juvenile form in four runs back from a long layoff. Mark is crashing to a dangerous level but need to see a lot more before he can be taken seriously.
Has been kept busy and was a winner over this C&D last month off 3lb lower. Not so good since and a well held fourth here on Wednesday. Needs more.
Won at Kempton back in January and ran a cracker here in March off just 1lb lower. Two turf runs in the summer were poor and needs to bounce back here. Drawn well on the inside.
Can be hard to predict at times and was well held here over 7f last week. Drops in trip and is on a good mark but comes with risks attached.
Never won on the AW but has run well here on several occasions. Struggled on soft ground when last seen at Hamilton in September and has dropped to a fair mark now. Wide draw no help but not out of things.
Forecasts
Pushkin Museum (5/2), Fantasy Justifier (10/3), Carlovian (11/2), Demons And Wizards (12/1), Peachey Carnehan (12/1), Cuban Spirit (12/1), Napping (16/1), Me Before You (16/1), Whitecrest (18/1), New Rich (25/1), Castlerea Tess (25/1), French (33/1), Astrophysics (50/1)
Whitecrest is a really likeable veteran and she looks sure to make another bold bid from her good draw in stall 2. Castlerea Tess and French are both very capable of being involved. We will take a chance that NAPPING will be fit and ready to go on first start for Amy Murphy after a six month break. She was in good form when last seen in May and this trip suits well.
- Napping
- Whitecrest
- Castlerea Tess
