Front-runner having a rare try on the AW. Needs to bounce back after some below par efforts and others are preferred.
Real success story from last winter when winning seven times and soaring 25lb in the weights. However, all were gained at further and although he should be cherry ripe after a couple of runs following a break, would make more appeal over further.
In cracking form, scoring three times in the spring. Now having third run back after a break but although he has form at this trip, his recent wins have been gained at 7f.
Form dropped off after Newcastle win in February for Charlie Hills but showed a touch more for this yard over C&D last time and could have more to come.
Was reappearing from a year off when finishing ahead of a pair of these rivals when third over C&D last month. Did well to get so close having been held up off a slow pace and if this doesn't come too soon he looks sure to figure.
Wide margin winner of a pair of weaker events here last winter but they were at 1m4f and may need this coming off a break since July.
Claimed for £13,000 from Richard Hughes after winning over 1m4f here in September. This is tougher and market should be informative on debut for new yard.
Creditable second to a course specialist on his last visit here in the summer but overall profile not so convincing and not hard to look elsewhere.
Struggling this year and first run for current yard when tongue tied for the first time recently offered little in the way of encouragement.
Plenty of placed efforts this season on turf at around this trip. Now makes AW debut and probably has to improve for it.
Sprang a shock at Haydock in July but hasn't built on that and long losing run on the AW now dates back nearly three years.
Backed at long odds when staying on third of 12 at Newcastle over 1m. The longer trip should suit though this is a stronger contest.
Moderate form in maidens last winter. Gelded since last seen in February and opening mark looks harsh on all known evidence.
Forecasts
Universal Command (4/1), Gabrials Centurion (6/1), Traveller (7/1), Star Ascending (8/1), Berlusca (8/1), Secratario (8/1), Critical Thinking (10/1), Planetaria (12/1), Save The Bees (14/1), Jetstream (14/1), Mood For Mischief (16/1), Helfire (16/1), Dream Magic (20/1)
UNIVERSAL COMMAND has few miles on the clock and if this doesn't come too soon he can get off the mark. Jetstream can build on his recent effort at this track while the market should reveal plenty about Secratario.
- Universal Command
- Jetstream
- Secratario
