Decent novice hurdler last season, but has paid the price for his efforts with a stiff handicap mark and was well held on his return to action at Fontwell last month. Only 2lb lower.

Mixed bag in five races over hurdles, winning one of them and falling twice. Comes with risks, but is unexposed and stable is in top form.

Winner of two novice hurdles and by no means disgraced on his other two starts over timber. First run since April and makes his handicap debut for a stable which is always to be respected.

Second of two wins in novice company when scoring at Taunton in April. First run since and handicap debut so definitely one to consider.

Fair reappearance run in a hot handicap hurdle at Chepstow last month. Can build on that, but is more exposed than quite a few of these rivals.

Well placed to win three of his last four races in the summer. Handicapper has taken his revenge, which leaves him vulnerable though not without a chance.

Haydock winner in February and shaped really well when fifth in the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham. Claims on that display off 4lb lower on seasonal reappearance.

Only third of six on latest start at Southwell, but the winner has boosted the form by winning a much better race at Ascot. Each-way claims.

Scored on his hurdling debut at Hereford and was close enough when falling three out at Towcester on only other start. Completely unexposed on handicap debut.

Taunton winner on debut last December and not disgraced behind a good horse at Kempton on only other start. Handicap bow following a break and market check is advised.

Making his handicap debut when inching home at Uttoxeter in May. Has a break and 7lb rise to overcome, but cannot be ruled out for a yard which also saddles Romanor.

Won handicap hurdles in April on first two starts for this stable. Up a total of 24lb and clearly has much more to do, but cannot be ruled out.

Age: 4|  Weight: 11-0| J: M Goldstein| T: Miss S West| OR:  117| D

Lost her way after a good start to her hurdling career last season. Fit from a recent run on the Flat and could have more to offer back over timber.

Plumpton maiden winner in February, but not at his best when well held in a Taunton handicap hurdle the following month. Can do better after a break off 7lb lower with his stable in much better form.

Horse silk
Gregarioush24
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: L P Aspell| T: L Wadham| OR:  115| CD

Three wins from nine starts over hurdles, but seasonal reappearance run at Carlisle was underwhelming. Should strip fitter this time, but has a bit to find.

Failed to pull up any trees when trained by Venetia Williams and makes his debut for a new stable. Also his first start in a handicap, so worthy of consideration

Verdict

Any number of possibilities in a wide-open contest. Destrier and Royal Sunday could well have got in lightly on their handicap debuts, but the same can be said of DON'T ASK, who is 2-4 over hurdles and has been given a favourable mention by his trainer. A whole host of other dangers are headed by Turning Gold and Ar Mest, while Vaziani is worth a check in the betting and the hat-trick-seeking Hollywood Ken cannot be ruled out.
  1. Don't Ask
  2. Destrier
  3. Royal Sunday
