Won well at Market Rasen on seasonal debut but didn't get the chance to prove whether he was capable of following up from a 6lb higher mark as he unseated last time out. Races from the same mark but stiff test under top weight.
Benefited from a run to win this race last year and should be cherry ripe for a repeat bid after a couple of spins (one on the Flat) last month. Up 1lb from his latest start but still on a handy mark. Worth considering.
Won well at Newton Abbot in May but has been well held a couple of timers since. never won from a mark this high and unlikely to improve at his age.
Has a mixed record this season and struggled to repeat the level of form hit when winning at Stratford in May; also debatable whether this trip is his optimum distance.
Lightly raced and still has potential to make more progress. However, he was well held at Newton Abbot last time out (his first start after almost two years off the track) and comes her with something to prove now he goes chasing.
Third behind Jarlath in this race last year but is worse off at the weights and needs to prove his fitness having been off since April. Others more convincing.
Second behind a well supported winner last time out reads well in comparison to this race; up 3lb for a narrow defeat but has won from 5lb higher before now. Ran well on his only previous visit to Warwick and no forlorn hope here.
Won a weak race here in May but found wanting a couple of times since. The handicapper has him on a close watch but feasible his relatively new trainer has found the key to unlocking more potential. Place claims at least.
Things have yet to fall into place for the gelding over fences and his last two starts over hurdles have been most uninspiring (pulled up on both occasions). Another who is difficult to recommend just now.
The trip isn't expected to be an issue but the mare has never won from a mark this high before and a career best is now required. Rain would be of assistance though.
Not raced over fences for two years and his recent form over timber leaves a lot to be desired. Hard to recommend on this occasion.
Stays well and is a previous course and distance winner, so feasibly one of those capable of being in the shake-up. Poor run of recent form needs to be forgiven though.
C&D winner on good ground two years ago but appears to have lost his zest these days. Plenty to prove judging by his last handful of starts and others like more likely winners in waiting.

West Wizard (7/2), Too Much Too Soon (7/2), Jarlath (5/1), Mr Satco (8/1), Foundation Man (8/1), Nobel Leader (10/1), Zayfire Aramis (11/1), Arquebusier (20/1), Chasma (20/1), The Dawn Man (20/1), Sideways (25/1), Presenting Streak (25/1), Modeligo (33/1), Moorlands Jack (33/1)
The capability of a repeat of last year's win is not an unreasonable assumption to make of JARLATH as he is set to stride out from a workable mark in a weaker looking renewal. The selection can be expected to handle the ground and can make this a good test for the rest. Mr Satco also has strong claims on the pick of his efforts and is forwarded as a live danger, while Too Much Too Soon and West Wizard also appeal as candidates that are capable of making the frame.
- Jarlath
- Mr Satco
- Too Much Too Soon
