Consistent on the AW earlier in the year and again appreciated a return to it the last twice with good third at Chelmsford followed by narrow defeat at Wolverhampton. 2lb higher now but form rock solid on this surface and the one to beat.

Six-time AW winner (67 races) has struggled on the whole this season after two wins in the winter. Return to AW surface the last twice brought only marginal improvement so others appeal more.

2016 C&D winner has had a quiet 2018 although he did win at Salisbury back in May. Not fired in four subsequent starts including here two starts back. Blinkers now fitted in attempt to spark a revival.

11-time winner including over C&D landed a double at Yarmouth in the summer but struggled since. Better effort latest when a close sixth at Windsor and now falls back to last winning mark so has each-way potential.

Caught the eye in fifth behind Fantasy Justifier two starts back at Wolverhampton but faded at Chelmsford latest under more forceful tactics. Return to being held up could see him go well here.

Consistent run of form saw him win at Chepstow and Wolverhampton before a rare disappointment at Bath. Back to form latest over inadequate 5f at Windsor where he stayed on for fifth and has genuine claims back up to 6f.

Had a fine 2017 winning four times but only raced three times this term after not starting until August. Not beaten too far the last twice at Wolverhampton and possible she could recapture her form of last year yet.

Yet to win for this yard although rarely beaten far. Faded into fifth at Yarmouth latest after looking a big player 1f out but handicap falls once again and cheekpieces are a potential positive addition.

Two career wins both come over 7f on turf at Lingfield. Weakened over 1m here latest and was beaten 15L into 11th of 13. 1m possibly stretched her but 6f conversely on sharp side and big bounce back needed.

14-race maiden has shown little signs of changing that statistic in 2018, failing to place in any of his seven races. Hard to make any sort of case now.

Registered career best effort after a short break latest when second beaten a short-head at Chelmsford. Turns out quickly before reassessment so has to have a big chance here if he can back that effort up.

Divine Callp9

Veteran is none from seven since switching to this yard and was a long way behind runner-up Charlie Alpha latest when ninth of 10 at Chelmsford. Suspect he's coming to the end of the road.

Forecasts

The Lacemaker (10/3), Shyarch (7/2), Charlie Alpha (7/1), Picket Line (8/1), Fantasy Justifier (8/1), Castlerea Tess (9/1), Deeds Not Words (10/1), Zorawar (12/1), Indian Affair (20/1), Divine Call (33/1), Avenging Red (66/1), Flying Sakhee (66/1)

Verdict

THE LACEMAKER is very consistent on the AW and has resumed in that manner the last twice with a neck defeat at Wolverhampton most recently a very solid effort. Charlie Alpha is the obvious danger after an excellent run last time but must prove it not to be a one-off with earlier form more questionable. Fantasy Justifier will enjoy returning to 6f and merits consideration here also.
  1. The Lacemaker
  2. Charlie Alpha
  3. Fantasy Justifier
