1-17 and beaten 5½L in one of these at Windsor (6f, good to soft) when last seen. More needed given the way that this race is framed, but if back in better form, he has each-way claims. Stays 7½f.
Looks to have a tough task on his hands at these weights, but if you can forgive his latest Windsor effort, his two previous handicap runs, including over C&D from this mark, could see him challenge for minor honours.
Never the most consistent of performers, but has some respectable placed form to his name over both 6f/7f in handicaps this season. Well held over C&D last time, but won here (6f) last year and not written off.
2-13, though both those have been on Tapeta (6f/7f) in Class 6 contests. More on his plate here. Blinkers may help, but others look better treated.
Won a Hamilton novice event (6f, good) in August. Unable to get back to that level in four handicaps, but best two efforts in that sphere were both over 7f. Well held latest, but better treated than plenty here and enters calculations.
Dual AW handicap winner over this trip. Ran well enough here over 6f in July, but back-pedalling since then, including in a Wolverhampton claimer on penultimate start. Others preferred.
13-race maiden who was well held in a seller last time and is one of the least likely winners in this line-up.
Won over this trip at both Wolverhampton (AW) and in Jersey (good) in the summer. In similar form over 6f back at Wolverhampton on her last two starts, and is not written off now back over this trip, though more needed.
Sole success was in a Musselburgh handicap (7f, good) in August, from a mark of 64. Not far off that form back there last time. Drops into this grade and looks a likely candidate at these weights.
Has some respectable form in Class 5 handicaps to her name this season, and won a C&D seller last time. Entitled to be a serious player on that basis.
Ran well in a Class 5 handicap here (6f, good) in May, when 7lb higher. Way below that form on both starts since. Now tried in this grade. Claims if she can bounce back, but plenty to prove at the same time.
0-14. Placed in five Class 6 handicaps from 7f-1m this season. Out of sorts last twice. Switches to this grade with visor fitted and a bit to prove in terms of both her form and also ability at these weights.
Best handicap form would give her a chance at these weights, but form has tailed off since winning a 7f classified event at Wolverhampton in July. Bit to prove.
Forecasts
Lady Alavesa (11/4), Havana Mariposa (7/2), Hedging (7/1), Grise Lightning (8/1), Arrogant (10/1), Peachey Carnehan (10/1), Frank's Legacy (10/1), Masquerade Bling (14/1), Onefootinparadise (16/1), Jazzy Girl (20/1), Montana Dawn (33/1), Tuscany (33/1), Westfield Wonder (100/1)
Probably not a race to get heavily involved in, but LADY ALAVESA arrives in good form and although it was a seller that she won here last time, she has enough form in handicaps to suggest that she can go very close again now switched to a claimer. Havana Mariposa is a potential danger, with Grise Lightning, Arrogant and Masquerade Bling others of interest. Both Montana Dawn and Onefootinparadise have shown the ability to get involved, but they need a revival to do so.
- Lady Alavesa
- Havana Mariposa
- Grise Lightning
