Made a promising start when third to what was almost certainly a Group horse at Ascot (7f) and filled the same position next at Newbury again over 7f. No rivals have made the frame in this field so his chance is obvious and will surely go close.
€240,000 newcomer by Kingman is a half-brother to a US 7f dirt winner out of a useful dam at 1m-1m2f. Leading yard's two-year-olds tend to need the run but still advise monitoring the market.
Done little to repay 230.000gns price from the breeze-up sales in two races at Newbury (ninth of 12) and here (eighth of 12). Much more needed and looks one for handicaps.
Dark Angel colt looked in need of his first-run as most from this yard do when ninth of 13 at Newbury although he did make some ground up before tiring. More needed but sure to improve so should better finishing position.
Newcomer by Frankel is a half-brother to six winners including a middle distance Group Two scorer in France and the US. Attractive pedigree and from a top yard but the fact he's already gelded a little off putting.
Iffraaj colt made a really promising start to his career when coming from a long way back to finish fifth of 14 in a 7f Newbury maiden last month. Sure to benefit for that experience and rated a serious contender here.
Alhebayeb colt was a couple of places behind Ifton when seventh on debut at Newbury. Both should improve but on that race his rival makes more appeal for this contest.
Expensive son of top sire Scat Daddy made a promising start at Chelmsford (AW) over 1m when he kept on into fourth. More to come and drop to 7f should suit on pedigree. Jockey booking very interesting and persuasive.
Shamardal colt ran well on debut here over 1m when fourth of 12 where he showed prominently until the final furlong. Needs a step up on that but no reason there shouldn't be more to come so rated a serious player here.
Helmet newcomer cost £26,000 as a yearling out of an unraced dam from a good family at up to 1m. Trainer does well with two-year-olds but suspect this will take a good bit of winning so tall order on debut.
Charm Spirit colt was fourth on debut at Newbury over 6f in what was a promising run but he couldn't really build on it when fifth over C&D next although he got no cover there. More needed but jockey booking a signal of intent.
Seventh of 12 on debut at Wolverhampton (AW) but beaten over 16L there so huge improvement needed to get involved here now switched to turf.
Rip Van Winkle newcomer is full brother to two-year-old Group One winner Dick Whittington and half-brother to four more winners. Pedigree very persuasive so certainly one of the likely newcomers here.
Forecasts
Light And Dark (13/8), Ballylemon (7/2), King Ademar (4/1), Eligible (9/1), Ouzo (16/1), You Little Ripper (16/1), Ifton (16/1), Gantier (25/1), Bell Rock (33/1), Kaafy (33/1), Ransomed Dreams (100/1), Dragon Sun (100/1), Mokuba (100/1)
KING ADEMAR was well backed before being withdrawn by the vet at Salisbury and was again popular before finishing fourth on debut. He obviously shows plenty at home and with Frankie Dettori booked he is fancied to repay his backers this time. Ballylemon has the best form in the book with two positive efforts to his name in warm maidens and he surely rates a big danger. Ifton also makes the shortlist after an eye-catching debut at Newbury.
- King Ademar
- Ballylemon
- Ifton
