75,000gns yearling; half-brother to Derby winner Authorized; slowly away and not really involved on either start so far (7f); upped in trip for third Wolverhampton run.
Half-brother to the 5f-7f winner Peachey Carnahan; has started at sizeable odds on both turf outings (7f-1m) so far, and makes the switch to the AW seeking a sharp upturn in fortunes.
6/1 when finishing just under 5L fourth to Trolius (runner up Havana Sunset runs at 6.00pm) on debut over 7f here 13 days ago; upped in trip for his second start, as per Autonomy (finished seventh in that race).
£120,000 yearling; once-raced dam was a half-sister to the UAE 1m1f Group 2 AW winner Allybar; withdrawn ahead of intended debut here on October 5th.
Closely related to a couple of winners including Martlet (1m2f-1m4f); keeping on but never involved sixth of 14 to Stormwave at Salisbury (1m novice) 15 days ago; AW debut.
Closely related to the 7f AW juvenile scorer Elusive Quality; fine debut despite showing signs of greeness when beaten a head by Turjomaan at Ascot (7f, good to firm) last month; various winners have come out of that race; rock-solid.
150,000gns yearling; 10/1, midfield until losing his place from halfway when finishing a well beaten tenth of 11 on debut at Redcar (7f, good); major improvement required for switch to the AW.
40,000gns yearling; well related as a brother to a couple of winners including Monitor Closely (1m-1m4f), and a half-brother to seven others; 66/1 when finishing tenth of 14 (green) to Skardu on recent debut at Newmarket (7f).
0-4, and finished a well beaten fourth of five over 6f at Brighton in June; off for 114 days since and holds little chance against these rivals.
Forecasts
Repaupo (1/5), Metatron (13/2), Ned Mackay (7/1), Valence (16/1), Fame N Fortune (16/1), Tilmeeth (20/1), Daniel Dravot (33/1), Autonomy (50/1), Dolly Dupree (66/1)
A race which will undoubtedly produce future winners, with at least a couple of promising (on paper) but seemingly backward horses involved. REPAUPO should be wiser for his fine debut at Ascot last month where he was narrowly denied by Turjomaan. He appears rock-solid in this company and is unlikely to find either the switch to the AW or the slight step up in trip problematic. With that Ascot race producing plenty of subsequent winners, including Faro Angel (fifth) and Fox Power (sixth), the John Gosden-trained juvenile has the look and feel of the proverbial 'good thing'.
- Repaupo
- Ned Mackay
- Autonomy
