Form of his two best runs has not worked out well and the step up to a mile is a gamble given his pedigree.

Went close on second start at Wolverhampton but not so good since than, with the addition of blinkers not doing much to improve the situation on last two starts.

Fourth to Too Darn Hot this summer and unlucky to bump into a well-handicapped debut on nursery debut. Probably undone by the draw last time and not discounted off this mark.

His Newbury third to Even Keel would be good enough but he has found little for pressure on last two starts and blinkers are applied.

Went up the weights for two runs at Ffos Las which probably amounted to less than the handicapper initially assessed. Drops 2lb here but may need to fall further.

Showed improved form when chasing home a more strongly fancied stablemate at Chelmsford. Never a factor after early interference on latest start. Has the pedigree to do better on this ground over this sort of trip.

Expensive purchase bred for speed but has improved for stepping up in trip. Better again last time when ridden more patiently and another 2lb drop should put him in with a very good shout.

Her Yarmouth second puts her on a nice mark given the third and fourth are both rated higher. Makes her handicap debut over a trip she looks ready to handle.

Has improved with each run and shaped far better than his finishing position indicates last time. Looks most interesting on nursery debut and over a trip more in line with his pedigree.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: D Allan| T: I Jardine| OR:  66

Half-brother to five Flat winners. Has not revealed much to date but a potential improver now handicapping. Worth checking in the market.

Red Hut Red44
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: James Doyle| T: W J Haggas| OR:  66

One of the stable's lesser lights who finds little for pressure. She is in a competitive contest here and her only run on a soft surface was her worst.

Commander Solo18
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: P Hanagan| T: R A Fahey| OR:  63

Hopes for any improvement when making his nursery debut were soon vanquished as he was under pressure from the off and trailed in 25L behind the winner. Hard to excuse that run without due cause.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: M Harley| T: K R Burke| OR:  63

Nicely bred filly who has shown minor promise. Makes her handicap debut off a lowly mark, but doubts about the going and whether this is far enough.

Has finished well adrift in all three starts and merits his current handicap mark. Up in trip for handicap debut but others have shown more signs of promise.

Being by Finjaan it is easy to see why his trainer has kept him to shorter. Noted staying on in better company last time having given himself plenty to do as usual. Could be a surprise package off his revised mark.

Verdict

The likes of John Clare, Elysian Lady and My Little Orphan are open to significant improvement now handicapping. All would be of considerable interest if supported, but Lethal Guest and FIVE ANGELS have the form to warrant the most respect in a trappy contest. The former has dropped to an attractive mark having been drawn on the wrong side last time. However, the selection has improved since stepping up to a mile and his latest effort was another step in the right direction. A further drop in the weights and the application of headgear are pointers to more to come.
