Can be hard to predict but remains on a workable mark. Looked in form when fancied on latest run at Chelmsford but dropped away as if something was amiss. Others preferred.

Progressive this season without adding to last year's two successes. Went a close third in a valuable Ascot handicap and latest fourth in the Cambridgeshire suggests he should go close back over an ideal distance.

Boasted a good strike-rate when an 11-time winner in Italy. Raced his best race since arriving in the UK when a close third in a claiming handicap over this C&D. Can go well but a bit more required.

Yet to finish outside the first three in seven turf starts and highly progressive winning three of his last four. Posted a career-best on handicap debut and while this is tougher he has the scope for further improvement on AW debut.

Returned from nine-month absence with excellent second to subsequent Cambridgeshire winner Wissahickon and then went close on unsuitable soft ground. Latest win was another step forward and won over this C&D on debut. Looks a major player.

Twice a winner here including once over this C&D but on quite a high mark at present and needs to bounce back from two poor runs.

Won three of his first four this season against his own age but struggled on his first run against his elders at Ayr. Possible heavy ground was against him but more required in this company on AW debut.

Still looking for his first win since joining this yard from Jessica Harrington's stable but was very unlucky over this C&D last time. Remains dangerously handicapped on Irish form which included a Listed win.

Won with plenty in hand over this C&D to remain unbeaten in two starts on an AW surface. Up in grade and 3lb but looks potentially better than this level.

Consistent and progressive performer who has competed well against his elders of late. Has a win and a close second over this C&D and looks sure to be involved once again.

Forecasts

Sabador (11/4), Blue Mist (11/4), Argentello (4/1), Ledham (9/2), Corazon Espinado (12/1), Grandee (14/1), Azzeccagarbugli (16/1), Porth Swtan (16/1), Rufus King (33/1), Mountain Rescue (80/1)

Verdict

A highly competitive handicap where many hold chances. Of the three-year-olds the improving Corazon Espinado has to be respected and is a credit to connections while both Argentello and Blue Mist hold obvious chances as both took a big step forwards with their latest respective wins. Narrow preference is for LEDHAM who displayed a lovely turn of acceleration when winning over this C&D and the nature of his wins makes it hard for the handicapper to catch up with him. Sabador really deserves a win and boasts some classy form this season while Grandee got no run over this C&D last time and shouldn't be discounted.
  1. Ledham
  2. Corazon Espinado
  3. Sabador
