Good effort when seventh of 20 in a valuable 7f handicap at Ascot last month, form which has been franked by the winner. Sound chance despite having to concede weight all round.
Back to winning ways when landing a 1m handicap at Yarmouth last month. Has a bit to find with Azzeccagarbugli on earlier Chelmsford running, however.
Had Pactolus behind when finishing fourth at Chelmsford two starts ago and is better off at the weights this time. Failed to replicate that form on latest outing and connections reach for cheekpieces.
Won twice at Chester in May after which he struggled a little off higher marks. Back down to his last winning rating, but has finished out of the frame on five previous AW starts..
Won twice last season, but two runs following a belated start to the current campaign have not been so productive. Down 3lb, but needs to show more.
Reliable campaigner who has run well on his last two starts on turf. All four AW wins have been achieved on the Southwell Fibresand, a statistic which tempers enthusiasm.
Visored for the first time when scoring under this claimer at Carlisle last month, but the headgear did not have the same effect on his latest outing at Goodwood. Has won on an AW surface, but wide draw is not ideal.
Sported first-time cheekpieces when scoring at Ascot last month, but the headgear was left off when last at Ayr on heavy ground. Has won on the AW and is of interest with the cheekpieces back on.
Still looking for his first win since joining this yard from Jessica Harrington's stable. Quite a bit to prove on first venture on to the AW.
Winner at Laytown on first start for this stable after leaving Roger Fell's yard, but was not at his best at Newmarket last time. Acts well at this venue and has each-way prospects for a stable which had a big winner at Ascot at the weekend.
Only two runs this year, but shaped with a fair degree of promise over 7f at this track last time. Could be ready to hit peak form and talented jockey's claim will help.
Best effort for some time when a close-up fourth of eight over C&D last week. This is a better race, but he seems to be in good heart and cannot be ruled out.
Stable companion of Grandee who ended a lengthy losing run when scoring at Chelmsford in first-tme cheekpieces last month. No headgear this time and has to cope with 2lb higher mark.
Winner over 7f at this venue in August, but latest effort at Sandown was disappointing. Will be happier back on the AW, but has something to find at this level.
Forecasts
Mubtasim (7/4), Manson (11/2), Isomer (7/1), Pactolus (8/1), Ventura Blues (12/1), Mister Music (14/1), La Rav (14/1), Grandee (20/1), Azzeccagarbugli (25/1), Florencio (28/1), Baraweez (33/1), Exchequer (33/1), Fayez (33/1), London Protocol (50/1)
Mubtasim appeals most of those at the top of the handicap, while Florencio likes this surface and his stable had a big winner at the weekend. Ventura Blues looks to be coming to her peak, but the vote goes to ISOMER, who is 1-2 on the AW and is fitted with the cheekpieces which helped him to score at Ascot last month. Azzeccagarbugli could go well at a decent price.
- Isomer
- Ventura Blues
- Florencio
