9/1
Scored over C&D in August, when 3lb lower. Well below that level last time, but acts on fast ground and no problem with him being very competitive if he can bounce back.

C&D scorer when 3lb lower in June. Not disgraced from this mark when 3L fourth at Newmarket last time. Not yet fully exposed but needs to eek out a bit more to win.

Last year's Lincoln winner from a mark of 100, but has been unable to add further to the win column. Has ¾L to find with Masham Star on their running here in August (now 5lb better off with him) but out of sorts since and needs big revival.

Won here over 6f last year. Dual winner this year at around 7f and stays 1m. Consistent and it would be no surprise to see him involved again.

Seeking a four-timer and has won two of his last three over this C&D, the latter on good to firm. Up 5lb for that and more needed in this line-up, but unexposed and entitled to plenty of respect.

Best at around this trip, though stays 1m2f. 6lb higher than when scoring at Carlisle (1m, good to firm) in August. Not ruled out on a each-way basis, but might find one or two in front of him.

Ran up a hat-trick in the summer, all at around 1m. Handicapper has caught up since then and looks to have a tough task on his hands.

Beat Kaeso ¾L here over C&D (good) in August, for which he is now 2lb worse off. Held from this mark last time, but return to this trip can help. Not ruled out.

Stays 1m3f. Scored at Beverley (1m½f, good to firm), when 9lb lower, in July. Competitive from this mark in her last two starts. Each-way claims, unless she can find further improvement.

Won over a similar trip at Beverley in August, when 9lb lower and was just edged out back there next time from 3lb lower. Held twice from this mark since, but another not ruled out of the frame.

Had the measure of Kaeso at York earlier in the season, but third behind he and Racemaker here in August. Below that level since and now drops 2lb. Claims if at his best.

Scored over C&D last year on fast ground, when 8lb higher, but has not yet won this season. Went close back here two starts ago, when 1lb lower. Well held on AW last time, but yet another with claims if at his best.

Course winner who stays 1m1f on fast ground. 4lb higher than his highest winning mark and will need a career-best to land this.

Ran well over C&D last time, but up 2lb for that in a better race here and another who will need a career-best to win this. Blinkers now tried.

Veteran who scored over C&D as far back as 2011. Very well treated on old form, but not easy to fancy from this mark on recent evidence. Cheekpieces fitted.

Forecasts

Fashion Theory (4/1), Knighted (4/1), Bravery (6/1), Kaeso (8/1), Masham Star (9/1), Dawaaleeb (10/1), Alfred Richardson (12/1), Mon Beau Visage (16/1), Give It Some Teddy (20/1), Royal Shaheen (20/1), Racemaker (22/1), Parys Mountain (28/1), Poet's Dawn (28/1), Brother McGonagall (40/1), Silvery Moon (50/1)

Verdict

Nigh-on impossible to call this race, where many have chances, but the suggestion is to stick with KNIGHTED in his bid for a four-timer. One of the least exposed runners in the field, he may still have enough improvement to come to take a successful step up to this level. Dawaaleeb is another who may not have stopped improving, and is therefore of more interest than most. Numerous others can win this at their best, including Racemaker, Fashion Theory, Masham Star, Bravery, Kaeso and Parys Mountain.
