€20,000 yearling; 20/1, slowly away when a well beaten last of eight on debut at Windsor (1m, good to firm) in August; longer trip a positive (may need further still).

4/9
Half-brother to a couple of dual purpose stayers (Beach Break/Wemyss Point), so few worries about this step up in trip; shown a decent level of form so far, including when finishing 2¾L third to Line Of Duty at Goodwood (1m) a month ago.

Horse silk
12/1
Bred to need a trip (dam a 1m4f-1m6f winner), so no surprise that he hasn't shown up prominently in either start so far (7f-1m); safely held by Allmankind on Goodwood form.

Horse silk
11/4
50,000gns yearling; dam a middle-distance winner; promising third on debut at Newmarket in August (1m, good to soft), but finished a couple of places (almost 3L) behind Allmankind at Goodwood latest.

(2)
Horse silk
20/1
40,000gns yearling; closely related to the 6f/7f winner Sulaalaat, and a half-brother to three other winners; upped in trip and switched to the AW after a modest debut at Ffos Las (7f, good to firm) last month.

Forecasts

Allmankind (4/9), Le Don De Vie (11/4), Caplin (12/1), Natty Night (20/1), Alcatraz Island (50/1)

Verdict

With Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle, ALLMANKIND is the logical selection. He has plenty of scope for this longer trip and has shown a decent level of form so far, including when finishing in front of a couple of these rival at Goodwood (1m) exactly a month ago. One of those rivals (Le Don De Vie) could prove capable of making up his deficit (almost 3L), but the other (Caplin) looks safely held.
  1. Allmankind
  2. Le Don De Vie
  3. Natty Night
