Dual Goodwood winner earlier in the campaign, but has risen plenty in the weights as a result. Not disgraced twice off current mark since, but still looks a shade vulnerable.

Belle Meade22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-7| J: Jason Watson(3)| T: A M Balding| OR:  89| D
4/1
Good fourth of 15 in a C&D handicap at the Derby meeting, and again relished easy ground when scoring by a wide margin at Sandown last month. Has run poorly since, but return to a softer surface will help.

Rebel Assault11

Scraped home in a 7f event at Musselburgh late last month, and back on same mark after two defeats this month. Not entirely disgraced at Yarmouth last time, but has work to do on balance.

Won a C&D handicap by 2½L late last month, and better form in defeat when second of 15 to War Glory in London Mile at Kempton last time. Never been better, and respected in current heart.

Juanito Chicot16
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: S C Williams| OR:  83| CD
7/1
Won over C&D last summer, and took a step in the right direction when fifth of 10 to Absolutely So in optional claimer at Sandown last time starting out for new yard. Needs to show he can build on that, but on a potentially lenient mark.

Pour La Victoirep9

Completed a hat-trick of wins at Brighton early this month, going up 11lb in the process. Mid-field in Bronze Cup at Ayr last time, and while he's a credit to connections, he's probably done his winning for now.

Highland Acclaimh3
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-0| J: L P Keniry| T: D O'Meara| OR:  82| C

Has slipped in the weights, and ran well when fifth of 14 at Thirsk late last month. Long been hard to predict, however, and recent efforts have lacked sparkle.

Dance Teacher19
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: Josephine Gordon| T: S L Keightley| OR:  82| CD
14/1
Won at Kempton in June for David Elsworth, and scored for new yard over C&D early last month. Below form on both starts since, though, and others more convincing.

Forecasts

Corazon Espinado (5/2), Belle Meade (4/1), Rebel Assault (11/2), Juanito Chico (7/1), Sir Titan (7/1), Pour La Victoire (8/1), Highland Acclaim (12/1), Dance Teacher (14/1)

Verdict

CORAZON ESPINADO followed a C&D success with a big run in the London Mile final at Kempton, so he appeals as the likeliest winner, for all Juanito Chico would be a big danger if building on a promising start for Stuart Williams at Sandown. Belle Meade ran well over C&D at the Derby meeting, and could bounce back as long as the ground doesn't quicken up significantly.
  1. Corazon Espinado
  2. Juanito Chico
  3. Belle Meade
