Alsvinder^t1³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 9-11| J: Oisin Murphy| T: D O'Meara| OR: 92| CD

9/2

In terrific form earlier in the summer and the handicapper has had a firm grip of him since. Previous C&D winner but needs to bounce right back here and others have more pressing claims. Tongue-tie added.

Form: 116265

Verne Castle^h⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 9-10| J: James Doyle| T: M Wigham| OR: 91| CD

7/2

Now a four-time C&D winner and looked as good as ever when coming through to win going away here last time. Up another 5lb which asks plenty more but should go well.

Form: 246451

Dynamo Walt^v⁵⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 9-7| J: P Mathers| T: D Shaw| OR: 88| CD

9/1

Regular in these races and could go round here in a blindfold. Won over C&D last time and only nudged up 3lb for that. Drawn well and should go well again.

Form: 158571

Excellent George^t⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 9-4| J: Sebastian Woods⁽⁵⁾| T: S C Williams| OR: 85| C| D

5/2

Has won here over 6f and after a good win at Newmarket two starts back he was disappointing at Yarmouth last time. Return to this venue is a plus and has claims with a good draw.

Form: 185315

(6)

Arzaak^b¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-2| J: Lewis Edmunds| T: C A Dwyer| OR: 83| D

8/1

Won back-to-back races earlier in the year and has slowly been working himself back into form since. Good effort at Yarmouth last time and not easily discounted here.

Form: 115462

(3)

Our Lord²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: L Morris| T: M J Attwater| OR: 82| D

7/1

Slowly returned to form and ran well from the front at Kempton (6f) last time. That trip stretches him and has a good draw to attack from here. Player.

Form: 19-3272

Zamjar⁵⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-1| J: George Downing| T: R M H Cowell| OR: 82| CD

7/1

Latest win came over this trip but probably slightly more effective over 6f. Always struggling after a slow start over C&D last time and can't afford to do that again here.

Forecasts

Excellent George (5/2), Verne Castle (7/2), Alsvinder (9/2), Harry Hurricane (5/1), Zamjar (7/1), Our Lord (7/1), Arzaak (8/1), Dynamo Walt (9/1)

An open sprint handicap that can go the way of OUR LORD. Having run a cracker at Kempton last time over 6f this trip suits him much better and he is drawn well to attack from stall 3. Verne Castle is in good heart and can chase the selection home.
