Ran much better than of late when fitted with first time cheekpieces last time and is undeniably well handicapped on her two wins last season. Interesting to see if she can back up her last run.
Won at Wolverhampton in March and has gone very close to adding to her tally on each of her last two starts. Up 2lb but in form and should give a good account of herself.
Yard in blistering form of late but things went wrong last time for this filly who was pulled up at Newbury after losing her action. Hard to be confident here given that last effort.
Won on second start last term as a juvenile but looks to have gone the wrong way in four outings so far this term. Down 4lb from latest poor run ay Haydock and needs to get her act together.
Won soft ground mile handicap last term and bounced back to form at Kempton recently when keeping on well to land short-head success in mile handicap. Only 2lb higher and interesting to see if she can reproduce that form now back on turf.
Landed second success this term when making all and staying on well at Ffos Las last time out. 3lb rise looks fair enough so every chance she could be in the mix if in similar mood.
Showed promise in two starts for Johnny Murtagh this spring and has run with credit on both starts for new connections. Eased 4lb since last run and good claimer takes 5lb more off so could well be thereabouts this time over extra furlong.
Won 6f juvenile auction race for Henry Candy last year before joing Ed de Giles. Showed little in four starts for him this term and now tries a new trainer. Jury very much out as she may not have trained on.
Won mile soft ground nursery last term at Chepstow and went close there two starts ago over seven furlong under similar conditions. Needs plenty of rain to enhance her chance.
Veteran mare who has won 6-71 and went close on penultimate start off mark of 61. Back to that rating now having run modestly last time so not without a chance of sneaking into the frame if things go her way.
Won at Brighton last month for second time coming home with a wet sail to score by two lengths. Faded inside distance of 4lb higher mark at Windsor last time and seems to save her best for the Brighton Downs.
Hinted at a little ability on first three starts then ran well on handicap debut when runner-up at Chepstow last month. Stays on same mark so has a squeak in an open contest.
Landed AW hat-trick during winter but has been woefully out of touch in four starts since then and others make far more appeal on these terms.
Only win in 26 starts came at Kempton AW in January . Has some turf form but likely to be better for outing on this return from four-month summer break.
Forecasts
Kyllachys Tale (3/1), Side Effect (4/1), Zafaranah (8/1), Yaa Mous (17/2), Junoesque (9/1), Aqua Libre (9/1), Elation (12/1), Fair Selene (12/1), Pure Shores (20/1), Dor's Law (20/1), Boreagh Lass (25/1), Stosur (40/1), Milan Reef (50/1), Naralsaif (50/1)
SIDE EFFECT is a hopeful selection having run well enough on her last two starts and been given a chance now by the handicapper. A big danger could be Pam Sly's Zafaranah, knocking on the door of late and in good form, and Fair Selene along with Stosur are others who are capable of getting involved if they get the breaks. Top weight Kyllachy's Tale and Yaa Mous further down the list are others who may be worth a check in the market, at least.
- Side Effect
- Zafaranah
- Kyllachys Tale
