Goes well at this track, and back in the groove when ½L second of 10 to Maypole in C&D apprentice event here last time (visor replacing blinkers). Looks capable of defying current mark if in the same mood now.
Finished third in 2016 Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot when with Aidan O'Brien, and best effort for current yard when neck third of 12 to Redgrave over 7f here last time. Cheekpieces tried now, but stamina for this trip taken on trust.
Form of his defeat of Ripp Orf here in January has been well advertised since, and back to best when edged out by Redgrave in a 7f handicap here last time (Pedestal third). Unproven at this trip, but sound claims if staying.
Lightly raced filly who got back on the up when 2L third of 10 to Maypole in apprentice handicap here last time. Has a bit to find with Mazyoun on that effort, but top apprentice's claim helps in that regard.
Won a 7f novice here last August when heavily backed, but has proved a disappointment in two turf starts this year. Blinkers now tried, and possible return to AW will help, but others more convincing.
Won second start as a juvenile on the turf at Lingfield, and caught the eye on belated return there under an inexperienced claimer, going on nicely at the finish. Looks on an exploitable mark for handicap bow, and return of stable jockey a big plus.
Sprung a huge shock when winning on debut at Goodwood's big meeting last year, and has run to a similar level on all three starts since, including when third on handicap debut at Newmarket. More needed now.
Scored at Ffos Las early last month, and good third at Chelmsford later in the month. Not at best subsequently, and although he had excuses last time, the handicapper seems on top at present.
Best efforts have come on Polytrack at Chelmsford, so perhaps he can be forgiven for a few modest efforts on turf of late, but handicapper not relenting, and others look better treated.
Forecasts
Radio Source (11/4), Mazyoun (3/1), King of Nepal (4/1), Quargent (9/2), Madeleine Bond (9/1), Thechildren'strust (10/1), Pedestal (12/1), The Eagle's Nest (16/1), Zalshah (33/1)
Mazyoun is a quirky sort who goes well at this venue, and was only narrowly denied over C&D on his latest start, with Madeleine Bond a place behind, Hugo Palmer's gelding is taken to confirm the form despite a turnaround in the weights, but there's a suspicion that both may struggle to contain handicap debutant RADIO SOURCE, who caught the eye under tender handling on his return, and has the benefit of Ryan Moore back in the saddle now.
- Radio Source
- Mazyoun
- Madeleine Bond
