Both career wins have been here, one being in a division of this race last year (good to soft), when 1lb lower. Ran well back here when beaten just 1L from 1lb higher two starts ago. Can be forgiven his latest AW effort. Claims.
Both wins came from higher marks when with Richard Hannon last year (on firm/good to soft). Beaten just ½L over C&D from 1lb higher last month. Not as good on his last two starts, but not ruled out.
1-17, having won a Lingfield maiden (6f, good to firm) last year. All best form has been on a sound/fast surface. Not badly treated on some of his efforts earlier in the season for Iain Jardine, but has a bit to prove, including over 7f.
0-15 and has been frustrating to follow this year, going close on four successive occasions without succeeding. Effective from 7f-1m1f, acts with some cut and can't be ruled out, if you can forgive his latest effort.
Sole turf win came on good at Epsom (7f) two years ago. Has since won on AW (1m½f) at Wolverhampton, when 8lb lower. Not as good back there over this trip last time. Bit to prove.
Best at around 1m, but showed he has the speed for this shorter trip when beaten less than 2L at Wolverhampton last month, from 1lb higher. More needed for the win, however.
0-13 on turf (has won twice on AW). Beaten less than 3L at 80-1 at Musselburgh (1m, good) two starts ago, when 3lb higher. Not as good there again last time and profile suggests that he is probably worth taking on again.
Sole turf win came on firm ground (1m) at Bath in 2014. Has won several AW races since, most recently at Wolverhampton (7f) in April, when 1lb lower. Wind surgery has not had much effect and conditions by race time may be far from ideal.
1-14. Won at Thirsk (6f, good to soft) last month, when 3lb lower. Can probably be competitive from this mark and ran reasonably well over C&D in April. Not ruled out from inside draw.
C&D scorer (good to soft) in April, when 5lb lower. Went close from this mark back here over 6f in June. Poor draw, but not written off.
0-9, though encouraging that his career-best effort was over C&D (soft) 13-months ago. Has been unable to get back to that level of form so far this year, however, but has dropped to the sort of mark from which he may be more effective.
Has started at triple-figure odds in all three novice runs and been thrashed. Begins life in handicaps from 3lb 'wrong' and is readily opposed.

Admiral Rooke (10/3), Chickenfortea (7/2), Zebulon (9/2), Bee Machine (15/2), Stringybark Creek (17/2), Sfumato (14/1), Gorse (14/1), Majdool (16/1), Maldonado (16/1), Sir Derrick (20/1), Burnieboozle (25/1), Caledonia Laird (40/1), Henrietta's Dream (66/1), Ferney (100/1)
Sir Derrick has a couple of things going for him here and can go well, with Bee Machine not ruled out. Zebulon, Stringybark Creek and Admiral Rooke are others of interest, but the vote goes to CHICKENFORTEA, who enjoys himself at this track and won't mind the forecast rain.
- Chickenfortea
- Admiral Rooke
- Sir Derrick
