Showed plenty on debut, and duly stepped up when winning 1m½f maiden at Epsom last time by 5L from War Eagle. Has further progress in her, and respected under mandatory penalty.
Sister of connections' US Grade 2 winner Nancy From Nairobi, and shaped quite well when third to Shambolic in a 1m novice at Ascot recently, faring best of the newcomers. Knew her job there, but should improve.
Last of six on debut at Doncaster in June, and absent since. Needs to show an awful lot more here to get involved, for all she seemed badly in need of the experience there.
Dawn Approach half-sister to 6f winner Red Van Winkle out of a 2-y-o 5f winner, herself half-sister to Select Stakes winner Red Badge. Makes some appeal on paper, but appears yard's second string on riding arrangements.
Cheap purchase who has shown just a modicum of ability in two starts to date, and makes no great appeal.
Unfancied, but went with some promise on debut at Ayr (7f good), when fourth of eight, and similar form when 5½L third of 11 to Brassica over C&D next time, albet showing a tendency to flash her tail.
Related to several winners incuding 1½m listed winner Pouvoir Absolu. Couldn't go the pace when down the field over C&D on debut, but should do better in time, particularly when tackling longer trips.
Archipenko alf-sister to owner's multiple 1¼m winner Av A Word and also yard's 6f 2-y-o winner Hic Bibi. Soundly beaten on last month's debut at Thirsk, but hinted at ability, and type to do much better with experience.
Distorted Humor half-sister to winners out of Group 2 Prix de Malleret winner Time On. Kept on late when sixth of 13 at Newmarket on debut, and may have found race coming too soon at Goodwood next time. Remains with potential.
Not knocked about on Redcar debut last month, and improved when third of 11 to Topical in 6f novice at Thirsk last time, staying on as if step up in trip would suit. Not taken lightly.
Half-sister to 7f/1m winner Lord Caprio (also a winner over hurdles), but cheaply bought, and makes limited appeal from widest draw on racecourse bow.
Captain Gerrard filly out of a moderate maiden. Has looked of no account in a couple of outings, beating just one rival.
Cheap purchase by George Vancouver out of an unraced mare. Raced too freely when 7¼L fifth of 7 to Conga in 6f novice at Haydock, and may do better, with longer trip sure to suit on pedigree.
First foal by Haafhd out of a mare who won at 6f-1m. Unfancied and soon struggling on debut at Thirsk last month, and likely to need more time.
Forecasts
Mot Juste (11/4), Cape Islay (11/4), Olivia R (9/2), Katiejay (5/1), Air Force Amy (11/2), Dark Delight (16/1), Sylviacliffs (50/1), Yes Poppy (66/1), Lincoln Tale (100/1), Donnago (100/1), Cuban Sun (100/1), Scandinavian Lady (100/1), Mac Jetes (125/1), Supreme Dream (150/1)
CAPE ISLAY was impressive at Epsom last time, and is taken to defy a penalty, especially as Air Force Amy has been handed a car-park draw. Mick Channon's filly ran well enough at Ascot on debut, so still needs respect, although a bigger danger could be Mot Juste, who was a tad disappointing last time, but had shaped well at Newmarket first time out.
- Cape Islay
- Mot Juste
- Air Force Amy
