Veteran who isn't as good as he was but is still capable at this grade and scored here on similar ground in June off 1lb lower mark. Hasn't beaten a single horse though in last three starts so has something to prove,

Primarily an AW and has won twice in recent weeks at Chelmsford. Not disgraced on only turf outing when fourth at Chepstow and has claims if able to maintain upward curve off 4lb higher mark.

Dual purpose performer who won at Chepstow off 3lb lower mark in May. Returns from summer break and tops jump yard has decent 21% strike rate on Flat this campaign.

Runner-up over hurdles recently but ran well in three successive outings here this summer including C&D win penultimate start. This is tougher but clearly has taken to these surroundings. Wears a first time visor to sharpen him up.

Enjoyed fine 2017 campaign winning four times, including hat-trick at the end of the term. Hasn't scored yet this season and may find this tough on recent evidence.

Has been staying on well enough over 1m4f of late so worth a try at this longer trip. Second at Epsom last time off same mark and has chance if she sees it out.

Three visits here last term produced a win, second and a third. Has gone close twice elsewhere this season and booking of top apprentice suggests connections are hopeful of another bold show.

Veteran course specialist with 6 wins and 8 places from 24 starts round here. May be feelng his age now but cannot be ruled out of calculations if he gets up a decent head of steam.

Has had a great year, winning five times including on fast ground here in June. Has shot up the weights though and yet to win over this far so on balance may come up short.

More than three years since his last Flat success, but ran on when second here last week and seems in decent nick. 2lb higher now and needs to find extra to figure at the finish.

Thorough stayer who has won twice here at 2m1f. If they go off fast he might pick a few off in closing stages but a place may be the best that can be hoped for over this trip.

Long-time middle distance handicapper, he stepped up to almost this trip here last time and ran with credit to finish third, although stamina seemed to ebb inside final furlong. Outside chance if ridden with a little more patience.

Youngster who is 0-10 and whose only run of note came here on fast ground when beaten a neck in modest 1m3f handicap. Uncertain stayer and looks to have plenty on her plate against older horses.

High Wells (5/2), Cry Wolf (11/2), Hope Is High (6/1), Xinbama (7/1), Innoko (9/1), Volpone Jelois (10/1), Danglydontask (12/1), Becca Campbell (16/1), Croquembouche (16/1), Our Folly (16/1), General Brook (25/1), Red Miracle (33/1), Hallingham (33/1), Glens Wobbly (40/1)

Verdict

Good prize money for this series final and a chance for father and daughter Paul and Megan Nicholls to strike with VOLPONE JELOIS who was ridden conservatively here last time but looks to have a solid chance if racing closer to the pace. There are plenty of dangers with High Wells, Becca Campbell and Cry Wolf all in decent form and capable of having their say. Innoko and course specialist Danglydontask are others who come into the equation in an interesting event.
  1. Volpone Jelois
  2. Cry Wolf
