Returns to AW action having underperformed on last two starts in better company on turf. He looked unlucky at Lingfield on AW Championship day and a reproduction of that effort here would be good enough.

Three-time AW winner who opened his account on turf at Newmarket, beating Helvetian a comfortable 1¼L. Now 6lb worse off but that offset by rider's valuable claim and he is now 2-4 in this class.

Taking his racing well and gets a big pull with Count Otto for the 1¼L he has to find on Newmarket form and 7lb claimer has been earning rave reviews. Proven on Polytrack and each-way claims once again.

Has won three of his last seven starts. Had excuses at Windsor last time when slow to break but there's a suspicion the handicapper has his measure.

Unbeaten in two AW starts and took advantage of a drop in class to score last time off a favourable mark. Up 4lb in better company but certainly not weighted out of this.

Both wins have come over 5f and he chased home a much improved Lord Riddiford over the same trip here two months ago. Has since shown he stays an easy 6f but this may still be too hot for him.

Has had a good summer but she is up another 5lb for her latest defeat and she will need to settle better if she is going to see out 6f in this company.

Well-backed when missing the break and struggling to go the pace over C&D two weeks ago. Lost a shoe in running that day but questions still remain that this is his trip against this calibre of opponent.

Forecasts

Breathless Times (9/4), Chagatai (10/3), Blackheath (9/2), Count Otto (6/1), Helvetian (8/1), Bullingdon (10/1), Procedure (11/1), Shaheen (14/1), Al Asef (20/1), Requinto Dawn (50/1)

Verdict

The trip look wrong for Bullingdon, Procedure and Blackheath, whilst Breathless Times could bounce back now reverting to an AW surface. Chagatai is unbeaten on Polytrack and remains competitively weighted but Count Otto and HELVETIAN are taken to repeat their recent Newmarket battle. The former won decisively that day and has a good AW record. However, the selection gets a 6lb pull in the weights before allowing for his excellent young rider's 7lb claim and that earns him the vote.
  1. Helvetian
  2. Count Otto
  3. Chagatai
