Well on top at the finish at Thirsk on latest start and looked like he had more wins in him based on that, however faces much slower ground here and a 7lb rise. Declared at Carlisle on Thursday.

Just one win from 22 starts but only just failed to make all at Musselburgh on latest start. Rallied late and extra furlong here a plus. A leading candidate if handling slower conditions.

Just 1lb higher than last winning mark at Ayr in July and handles these conditions. Can be competitive again but vulnerable to better handicapped rivals.

Sole victory in 37 starts came back in 2016. Running consistently well for his current stable and handles these conditions, however concern he keeps finding one too good.

23-race maiden who took well to a first-time visor (retained) when second at Ayr. Can be competitive but concern over the drop in trip and yet to show a liking for cut in the ground.

C&D winner who is very well handicapped and returned to form with a fourth on soft ground at Carlisle. Clearly suited by these conditions and looks a leading hope down in grade.

All three wins have come at this track including one over this C&D. Needs to find improvement though on current form and continues to blow her chances at the start.

Just two wins from 32 starts and on a long losing run since the last which came over this C&D. Tough ask again from out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Building Year (5/1), Dodgy Bob (11/2), Alfie's Angel (6/1), Someone Exciting (8/1), Mr Shelby (17/2), Rockley Point (10/1), My Valentino (14/1), Gaelic Wizard (16/1), Vallarta (18/1), Maureb (18/1), Willsy (18/1), Sir Domino (20/1), Gilmer (20/1), Scuzeme (22/1), Dutch Dream (50/1)

Verdict

Dodgy Bob returned to form with a switch to soft ground and that seems to be a key factor nowadays. Along with Gaelic Wizard he goes well at this course and can be in the mix. It may be worth siding with BUILDING YEAR who remains lightly-raced and showed plenty of promise when last on these shores, with his run able to be upgraded following interference at the start. Mr Shelby is another to note although the ground remains a query while Rockley Point is taken to place again.
