Often plies his trade in apprentice/amateur events, and proving a reliable performer, with four wins in a busy campaign. Clear of rest when runner-up at Goodwood (1½m, heavy) last time, and won't be disgraced.

Best on easy ground, winning this race in 2017. Won in the mud at Windsor in April, and back to form when third over this trip at Ffos Las on latest outing. Now tried in blinkers, and not dismissed if rain eases conditions further.

Disappointed on first two starts this year, but back on track when scoring at Doncaster in July, and proved he could handle easy ground when following up at Ffos Las (1¾m), with Nordic Combined third. 2lb rise looks very fair.

Fairly useful form in France for David Smaga, winning a 1¾m maiden at Chantilly in November. Better effort this year on return, but ran poorly at Longchamp last time before joining current yard for 26,000 gns in the summer.

Picked up cheaply having originally cost 400,000 gns as a yearling. Scored on stable debut at Wolverhampton and best run since also came on Tapeta at Newcastle. Seemed to stay 2m when third at Chepstow last time.

Hampered and eased off when last on belated comeback at Windsor in April, but proved he retains plenty of ability when winning over 2m at Newmarket last time. Needs to prove he back that up, but not badly treated.

Flopped on handicap bow at Nottingham in May, but subsequent absence suggests all wasn't well there, and she ran much better when third at Newcastle and Kempton last month. Needs a bit more improvement for step up in trip here.

Winner at Redcar in May, and found a bit more improvement in blinkers when winning over this trip at Yarmouth last time. Seen to maximum effect there, and likely to be vulnerable from revised mark.

Beaten a long way on Pontefract debut, but left that form behind when defying 100-1 odds to land a 1m4f novice at Wolverhampton. Similar form when third last time, but improvement required from stiff opening mark in handicaps.

Best effort in qualifying when 4¾L third of 8 to Formula One in 1½m novice at Ffos Las last time. Remains open to further improvement now handicapping, and opening mark not severe.

Won at Newcastle in July, and followed up over this trip at Nottingham last time by ½L from Methag, suited by emphasis on stamina. Still unexposed as a stayer, and solid claims from the foot of the weights.

Burn Some Dust (7/4), Jam Session (4/1), Garbanzo (7/1), Nibras Galaxy (7/1), Nordic Combined (9/1), Carnwennan (10/1), Fort Jefferson (10/1), Mod (14/1), Charlie D (16/1), Luv U Whatever (25/1), Al Kout (40/1), County Fair (40/1)

Verdict

Garbanzo and Nordic Combined are closely matched on recent Ffos Las running, with the winner perhaps having more to offer, and the latter seemingly coming to a peak as he attempts to follow up last year's win in this contest. At the other end of the handicap, BURN SOME DUST looked well suited by this trip at Nottingham, and has every chance of landing the hat-trick for last year's winning trainer.
