Won a maiden at Wolverhampton in impressive fashion last year. Has looked in need of the run on his two starts so far in this campaign but should be approaching peak fitness now. On a good mark if able to bounce back and is respected.

Having a good season and won off a 3lb lower mark at Pontefract (1m2f, good) three starts back. Not so good the last twice and now needs to bounce back dropping in trip.

Made all to win well at Newmarket off a 2lb lower mark two starts back. Struggled in a higher grade at Redcar next time but should be more at home back down in class. Sound claims once again.

Winner at Beverley in July off 3lb lower. Not so good the last twice and has struggled off marks in the 80's. May be that the handicapper has him in his grip now.

Went really close here over 7f (good to firm) two starts back. Couldn't back that up last time after a slow start and needs to bounce back to his best to win this.

Winner off this mark on reappearance at Kempton in April. Nowhere near that form since including on debut for this yard last time. Needs to bounce back but has won here in the past.

been in terrific form this summer having won three times already including here. Race wasn't really run to suit at Sandown last time so can be marked up for that performance too. Plenty of pace in here which will suit and has rock solid claims.

Now on an 18-race losing run which is a worry. Mark continues to slide and is now 9lb below his last winning one. Needs to bounce back but will do so sooner or later.

Good winner on handicap debut at Nottingham off a 6lb lower mark in June. Things have not gone to plan since and was a tad unfortunate at Salisbury last time. Should still have plenty more to come and is very much respected.

Improved of late winning at Chepstow in July before successful again back here over C&D last time. Has a high head carriage and is now 6lb higher in the weights but could be more to come.

Forecasts

Tahreek (3/1), Makambe (3/1), Michele Strogoff (9/2), Biotic (5/1), Two For Two (8/1), Ghayyar (10/1), Fondest (10/1), Mostahel (16/1), Destroyer (18/1), Alejandro (20/1), Welliesinthewater (33/1), Spirit Of Belle (50/1)

Verdict

A tight handicap and several potential improvers. Fondest has plenty of scope for improvement and could be ahead of her mark but this quick ground is a slight concern for her at this stage. BIOTIC is in rude health having won three times of late including here. This should set up nicely for him and he can win again. Tahreek is still on the upgrade and will be a big danger if getting a better passage through than at Salisbury last time.
  1. Biotic
  2. Tahreek
  3. Fondest
