In good form having won a seller before backing it up with a win in claiming company at Beverley. This looks tougher but the gelding, who was claimed for £8,000, is thriving just now and has joined a top yard to ply his trade under both codes.
Won at Chepstow in June, still 2lb higher but will like the predicted ground. Lost his way a tad lately and, having been on the go with at least one run a month since January, the gelding needs to prove he still has a ruthless edge when required.
Landed a Windsor maiden last October but three subsequent outings - albeit well spread out - have been modest at best. Plenty to prove just now and not an obviously well-handicapped individual.
Sole win on turf (1-21) was achieved over this trip at Bath last summer - been placed twice since. Now back on the same winning mark, the gelding has a feasible chance if running to the level of his recent effort at Windsor. Poor last time, though.
Still unexposed on the Flat but four previous runs have been modest. That said, the form of his only previous visit to this course was boosted on AW at Wolverhampton on Saturday, so possible there's a little more to come. Risks attached.
Comes here on the back of his best run for his current yard but needs to prove that placed effort at Kempton wasn't just a one-off performance. The betting can guide but the gelding looks a risky option for a win only punt.
Rounded off 2017 with three wins on the bounce but went up 16lb as a result. This season's outings have been limited to two lacklustre efforts and the gelding is hard to recommend on the evidence of his latest start at Chepstow
Didn't achieve much in three novice events before making a modest handicap debut at Wolverhampton in June. Not seen out since and a bit to prove in switching back to turf. Others are more likely winners in waiting.
Forecasts
Jacbequick (3/1), Camakasi (7/2), Spanish History (4/1), Essenaitch (5/1), Havana Breeze (5/1), Star Gypsy (14/1), Love And Be Loved (20/1), Berry De Carjac (28/1)
This could be a good opportunity for JACBEQUICK to extend his winning sequence to three consecutive successes. A newcomer to the David Pipe yard, the gelding has answered every question asked of him in low-grade races of late and, as this lacks strength-in-depth, he looks to have been found a reasonable chance of going in again. Camakasi has a history of wind issues but is back on a winning mark and can go close if running to the level he displayed at Windsor on his penultimate start. Berry De Carjac is still open to a bit of improvement on the Flat and, given he's got previous course experience (boosted at the weekend), he too can take a hand if he handles the ground.
- Jacbequick
- Camakasi
- Berry De Carjac
